Description
Hi!
After almost 15 years and countless stays as volunteers / workawayers we finally are ready to welcome other workawayers to our new home here in Norway.
Richi is a certified electrician and electronic engineer. Johanna was a team leader at a major company, is nature pedagogy, but decided to take it slower and works in the local kindergarden now.
We have a house very close to the fjord with a ferry connection (30min) to Trondheim.
Currently we are traveling and will be back early November. Then we have to do some planning and we would be available for help from about mid of November til Christmas for now.
We have several projects to do during winter, where practical experience with hand tools is required. A drivers licence and driving skills come in handy.
We apprentice help with the following:
- Helping to make firewood
-Assist with renovation projects
-Preparing food
-painting
-woodwork
-shoveling snow
-help with the household just like in shared accomodations
With us you will eat mostly vegan / vegetarian although self-caught fish from the fjord is eaten here, too.
We have space for a couple or two individuals. Winter nights can be long...
We have ski equipment for cross country which can be borrowed, bikes, boat for fishing, a great tour terrain, possibilities to stay close to Trollheimen NP, the fjord and lakes.
If you write us and wish to stay with us, please read our no-go's here:
- Drug ab-use, including alcohol - not saying that a beer once in a while is okay ;)
- Disrespectful behaviour, e.g. not cleaning after yourself (should not be mentioned, right?)
Because we get many general request, like copy-paste-style: Please let us know what you see yourself doing here (from the list).
Also our internet is not stable in a way that it is suitable for online working (like videocalls and stuff) - so if the internet connection is your top priority please consider somewhere else ;)

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are both travelling souls and used to do so for a long time. Now the time has come to host people and share our believes and our way of life!
We live in a rural community with many different nationalities. We both are learning Norwegian, Johannas diet is mainly vergan and Richards mainly vegetarian ( we eat locally sourced meat/fish).
Richard speaks 4 Languages and thrives with cooking and fermenting stuff, Johanna loves to do baking, knitting and to be in the garden.
So, there is a lot learn and we also are very eager to learn ;)

We live in the "Strawberry Capital" of Norway!! That means decent weather in the summertime and a mild climate.
This place in gorgeous and has many small valleys, creek, and little mountaintops. The fjord view is just stunning and gives us so much energy.

The short time here with you sticks to our minds as positive and inspiring. Your experience in life lead to interesting and "different level" conversations.
It was interesting to have you in the house also being in a "changing period" of life - same as us ;)
