Description
Hey there Workaway world !
Come with us on Pender to work with another workawayer (Caro, check the end of the profile) and take part in developping a full permaculture project and even more important have a fun experience on this beautiful Gulf Island.
I am Wayne, an experienced carpenter with sustainable building skills - permaculture design, green roofs, solar power etc. If you're up to it, you can help with the garden (raised beds, layered, fruit trees), building an awesome cute-old-windows-patchwork greenhouse and help around the home .
I love working here and it makes me really happy to teach and share with others everything I've learned in my previous life as a BC farm kid, Vancouverite movie set world, even ski patrol ! I cannot get express how much I enjoy hiking, camping, skiing, music, outdoors, and also rubbing my little poodle doggie Evee' s belly ( who deserves it as a real good puppy!),
If you come to Pender there are plenty of places with can go together or I can tell you about where you can go on your own if you are a real adventurer. No bear so far on Pender Island, but you might run into the rest of the forest world since it is still a bit of a wild island.
You can check up Caro's profile here - she's decided to have an extended stay here and will stay for a while, she's french but nevertheless quite nice ;-D -

Help
I am living on Pender Island and need some help in the garden cooking and cleaning. Evee my puppy would like to go on hikes with you. Also have some egg laying chickens if you have experience with this or would like to learn about that.
I love to share knowledge, traveling stories and going on hiking adventures. Always something new and interesting to do here. The forest garden will have many out door projects going on. If you have any questions and/or interested in visiting me here, send a message. Worlawayers will only be helping around my home and forest garden. They will not be asked to help with my construction business. -

What else ...
I live on Pender Island which is located in the middle of Vancouver and Victoria in the gulf islands. Pender has a winter population of about 3000 and summer is about 6000. I choose to move to this island because of the best weather in Canada and community spirit. Pender has all the activities stores restaurants services one should ever need. Easy and cheap to access this island from either Vancouver or Victoria.

To hang out with and to work with-she is the best. As a bonus she gave my puppy Evee much needed motherly energy. Which included giving her a hair cut. Sujin would see what needed to be done (like Evees haircut) and just do it. I really appreciated how she was making … read more
