Description
Our place is a cultural and tourist resort 7 Km from La Paloma (Rocha). The main mission here is to take care of a piece of Uruguay where: Local nature can thrive and prosper;The organic vegetable garden is effective and efficient; Fun and learning are synonyms.
Here it is possible to: Relax and just do nothing, but it will be hard not to observe native birds that pass through here (we have observed already 183 different species!), appreciate the various native plants that our garden offers, taste fruits, enjoy the swimming pool, play soccer on the field, make a barbecue and spend memorable moments with the other guests and the crew.
Accommodation, with:
Cozy rooms that can comfortably accommodate a couple, a family of 4-5 members or groups up to 10 people.
Camping emplacements in the shade of a eucalyptus wood with barbecues, toilets and showers with hot water to enjoy the holidays in comfort

Volunteers will support us in the following activities: 1. organization of the botanical garden. (planting and taking care of varieties of plants and flowers, organizing the botanical route, help in the building of garden structures.)
2. organization of the organic vegetable garden:the volunteers will help us in the classical tasks related to the cultivation of vegetable products, and in the achieving of the necessary facilities for the garden.
In these activities the volounteers will be assisted by members of our team.
Our botanical garden and organic vegetable garden are in the initial stage, therefor the volunteer will actively contribute to their achievement, and will positively affect the final result.
3.Help in decoration of rooms (we have several themed accomodation )

In our area there is also a Museum, Naturciencia.
The seaside area of La Paloma offers several possibilities:
Sandy or rocky beaches where you can windsurfing, diving, fishing, etc. No lack of restaurants, bars and ice cream parlors and local crafts shops
A few kilometers away there are some of the most characteristic places of Uruguay: Lake Rocha and Lake Garzón, Cabo Polonio, los bañados del Este, Punta del Diablo and Mount Ombúes.

The wifi is fine however in some cases having zoom meetings is difficult. and only one person ata time can have a zoom meeting. If I am using the wifi for a zoom meeting /that I do often) you cannot be streaming afilm for example and the other way around. it requires some planning.

I had a very nice experience at this place. Very calm place and very friendly people. We were planting fruit trees and preparing roads for the garden. Fernando and his family are very nice people and very friendly host. Also it was nice to have a company of others volunteers.

I had a great two weeks here! It's a lovely little project they have going planting the orchard and sprucing up the hostel. Fernando is such a welcoming guy and the work was enjoyable.
