    RECRUITING FOR 2026!

We are very excited to open up our paid job applications for the 2026 season. Currently looking for multiple hard-working, experienced and enthusiastic café workers to fill roles back of house & front of house.

    Available roles:
1 x Kitchen Porter (full time, 40 paid hours per week)
2 x Front of House Staff: experienced with barista or serving/both! Experience in a café setting is crucial, but barista training can be provided.

    Couples and individuals welcomed.

Initially looking for Workawayers who can commit to our full season, beginning the first week of March through end of September/October. Drop us a message if you fit the bill!
    .......

We are a married couple who run a little community café in our local village hall. We opened our business in 2022, and as we enter our 5th season we are looking for some help in the day-to-day workings of the café

We live and work in a stunning part of Scotland, on the Isle of Skye. Staffin is in the Northern Trotternish peninsula, with incredible scenery and amazing hikes. We are surrounded by water, and our house is a 10minute walk from the shore. We are close to some fantastic walks, including the Quiraing and the Old Man of Storr.
On our doorstep there are loads of beautiful hikes to explore.

We pay Scottish Living Wage of £12.71+ per hour, and tips are divided between all of our staff. Pay is made monthly.

As we recently had a baby, we won't be able to accommodate our Workawayers in our own house this season, but accommodation offered is all private rooms within walking distance of the café.

Previous to running the business, I ran a hostel on the island and have 5 years of experience with hosting workawayers. Since leaving my job to start my own business, I missed this social aspect of hosting and looked forward to getting back to it. We absolutely love getting the chance to complete our team through Workaway.

During work hours, you are well fed! Outside of work, it's more straightforward for workawayers to organise their own food. We supply all the stuff you'd expect to find in a kitchen (equipment, crockery, spices, oil etc!).

We're currently looking for workawayers who can commit to staying for the whole season (end of March - end of September).

It really helps having a car to get around Skye in general, but it's not impossible without. Let us know in your message if you'll be travelling by car or if you like cycling. We live 1 mile from the café so you'd always have the offer of a bike to get to/from shifts.

We can only accept workawayers who have a valid visa for work in the UK - please don't get in touch unless you already have this!

We get LOADS of messages through Workaway, and although we appreciate every single one, it's not realistic for us to reply to every message. Please firstly read our whole profile, check our calendar and specify your exact dates of travel before messaging - there's way more chance of us getting back to you if you've done these things! If you don't mention your exact dates of availability, we will not be able to accommodate you.

If you want a response to your message, please subject it 'Stafainn Café' and we'll know you've read this! Thanks

We are Gaelic speakers (one moreso than the other!), who are from Skye and are really passionate about our island home.

We would love to welcome someone to our home and show them an authentic Skye experience, the place we are proud to call home.

I am an artist and have a small printmaking press here which our workawayer would be more than welcome to experiment with if they are interested. Our beautiful surrounding area offers constant inspiration for creating art, so we would always encourage this if our workawayer is interested in art.
