    Description

We are a family living in a park front home in Rangeville in beautiful Toowoomba, “The Garden City”. Katie (a Veterinarian) is home with Delilah and Freddie at the moment helping everyone in to get settled in to our new home. Dave (an Engineer) is still back at our old house on Macleay Island doing the final renovation touches before our beachfront house gets sold and then he gets to join us in Toowoomba too. Prior to this we were living and working in Fiji so we are very much looking forward to being settled in our “forever home”. We have 2 small children who are lots of fun and love meeting new people. Delilah is 3.5 yo and Freddie is 1.5 yo.
We have a very friendly Bluey Dog and a crazy cat who love playing together. We have both travelled to many different places and love meeting new people.
We would love someone to come and live with us and join in our everyday activities - to become part of the family for the duration of your stay (and maybe longer too !?!?). Neither Delilah or Freddie are attending daycare at the moment so we would love someone who can do educational activities, creative play and engage with their learning adventures. They both love reading books and especially being read too. We do not have regular television and do not allow the children access to our phones/computers, so they do require adult input to entertain them at times. We love looking out over the park at the huge stand of eucalyptus trees across the road. We are excited to explore all the magnificent nature walks in and around Toowoomba and hopefully spot some of the many koalas in this region too.

We have both immediate and extended family in the Toowoomba area as well who we routinely catch up with so your circle of contacts will be wider than just us. Toowoomba is a funny mix - both a cosmopolitan city with a country town feel. It is a friendly community that often hosts community events and has live music every weekend. We sometimes take our kids to community playgroups so that they can interact with other children. There is an active art centre and gallery plus regular Farmers Markets, Festivals, Concerts, so many cafes & restaurants, street art, Japanese Gardens etc etc. and likely so much more that we don’t even know about just yet !!!!
We are looking forward to learning about different countries and cultures and gaining insights for our next travel adventures as well.

We are pretty flexible & can accommodate most requests.

Dave works in engineering so he is working out the building side of our house renovations on Macleay Island before he joins us in Toowoomba in mid May. Dave will then be looking for full time engineering work around Toowoomba. Katie is a Veterinarian by trade who now spends her days caring for Delilah & Freddie. The most important help that we need is someone to care and monitor our children for some of the day while Dave is doing building work and Katie is doing administration/office work. As well we would love some general help around the house and garden - Katie and the kids go gardening together and we are looking forward to giving this new garden some TLC and to get some more landscaping happening (especially around the pool as it is a little bare). Anyone who loves kids and animals will love our place and if you also like nature, wildlife & hiking then there is so much to explore in this area and you would be welcome to join in our adventure of discovery as well. . If you like cooking you are welcome to make some meals too. We try to be very healthy eaters.

You will be living in the house with us in your own bedroom that has a Queen (or a King) sized bed with a park view . You will have your own bathroom. We would be sharing the laundry. We eat 3 meals a day at the dining table as a family. We are healthy eaters who cook / prepare our food every day and would look forward to you joining us for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    What else ...

Our dog and cat live in the house with us and they love being involved in everything we do. Being a Vet I can guarantee that they are clean & healthy. Ours is not a quiet house (with 2 kids playing) but it is a fun house full of love and laughter. We are non drinkers and non smokers . We are very happy to help you to see the sights that you want to see and if there is no public transport then we will always try and drive you wherever and whenever we can.

    Profile photo of Tiko

    Tiko (2 years)

Tiko came back from Fiji with us so is actually called an Exotic Shorthair Cat. We adopted her after she was found at 3 weeks old wandering along a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. Tiko’s best friend is Snippy dog and they love playing together. She is a very funny indoor cat who gets up to all sorts of mischief during the day and then turns into a smoocher at night.

    Profile photo of Snippy

    Snippy (7 years)

Snippy is a Blue Heeler Cattle Dog who is extremely friendly and loves people. She has good manners and does not jump up on people. She loves pats, cuddles and throwing a stick or ball for her. Her best friend is our cat Tiko & they play a lot together. She is great with our kids and lots of fun.
