    Description

We are a funny Spanish family (80s costumes generated by IA, my dad is bald... lol) looking for solo travellers or couples to join us in the daily life of our rural property.

We are a simple, close-knit family, and we enjoy sharing our home and surroundings with people from other places. What we offer is a private room, breakfast included, and two days off per week, with bicycles available for nearby trips. The collaboration is four hours a day, five days a week, with weekends free. Tasks include gardening, general maintenance, small repairs, and helping to keep the house and outdoor spaces in good shape.

Experience in gardening, construction, or general maintenance is appreciated, but not essential. What matters most is a good attitude, responsibility, and willingness to help.

The farm is between the Delta de l’Ebre Natural Park and the Ports Natural Park, a great area for nature, bird watching, beaches, and outdoor activities, with plenty to explore on your days off.

Own transport is recommended; bicycles are available for short distances. Spanish is the main language at home. We speak a little English, but not fluently, so basic Spanish or willingness to use a translator works fine. Flexible stay, dates to be agreed directly. Send us a message telling us a bit about yourself and what you're looking for. We'll be happy to meet you.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We enjoy sharing everyday life with our workawayers rather than simply hosting them.

Depending on the time of year, they may also experience local festivals, markets, village activities and traditional celebrations in Amposta and the Delta de l’Ebre. We can show them some of our favourite places to enjoy nature, local food, beaches and the surrounding villages.

We are also happy to introduce them to local people and give them the opportunity to experience the area beyond the typical tourist route. Sometimes the best cultural exchange happens over a meal, a walk or an improvised conversation!

We can share practical knowledge about rural life, gardening, caring for outdoor spaces, basic maintenance and small repairs around the property. We can also share our knowledge of the local area, including the Delta de l’Ebre, its natural environment, traditions, culture and way of life.

As a Spanish family, we can offer an authentic opportunity to practise everyday Spanish through real conversations and daily situations. We can also share aspects of Spanish and Catalan culture, local traditions, food and customs.

Most importantly, we believe that living together and working side by side is a great way to learn practical skills, exchange knowledge and discover different ways of doing things.

We would love to learn about the lives, cultures, traditions and ways of thinking of the people who stay with us. Every traveller has a different story, and we enjoy discovering how everyday life, food, family traditions and customs vary from one country to another.

We are also interested in learning new practical skills and different ways of approaching gardening, maintenance, cooking, travelling and sustainable living.

For us, cultural exchange is a two-way experience. We hope our workawayers will discover our way of life while we also get to see our own surroundings and everyday habits through their eyes.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There is plenty to do in the area during your free time. The Delta de l’Ebre is ideal for cycling, walking, bird watching, nature photography, beaches and exploring small villages. You can visit the Ebro river, rice fields and natural areas, or simply enjoy the quiet surroundings.

Amposta has shops, cafés, restaurants and local markets, and there are many interesting places to discover in the surrounding area. Tortosa, the coast and the Ebro Delta are all within reach, and there are plenty of opportunities for day trips.

Bicycles are available for nearby journeys. Having your own car is recommended if you want to explore the area more independently, as public transport in rural areas is limited. We are happy to give advice about places to visit and how to get around.

We live a simple, relaxed and family-oriented lifestyle. This is our home, not a hostel, so we value respect, cleanliness, communication and consideration for everyone sharing the space.

We expect workawayers to be responsible with their tasks and to look after the house and property as they would their own. We appreciate people who are independent, flexible and willing to communicate openly if something comes up.

We enjoy sharing meals and spending time together, but we also respect everyone's privacy and personal time. We are a non-smoking home and ask guests to keep common areas tidy and to be mindful of noise, especially at night.

Most importantly, we are looking for a friendly and respectful exchange. We don't expect perfection, and we know that everyone has different habits and ways of doing things. Good communication and a positive attitude are what matter most.

We have a good internet connection, and I also work online, so it is perfectly adequate for my needs. However, as we live in a rural area, the connection is through satellite, so it is not 100% reliable. Occasionally, the signal may be weak or the connection may stop working for a while.
