Description
Experience what it's like to transition from modern day living to a more natural way of life, combining the best of both worlds. Join me on my homestead in the countryside of the Hungarian Great Plains, one hour outside of Budapest. I invite you to share this journey with me and experience building a homestead and alternate way of living based on permaculture, sustainability and regenerative principles, where one can come to work, learn, play, relax and connect with nature and others.
I try to offer as comfortable accommodation and enjoyable experience as I possibly can, with a balance between country-living and modern facilities. Most of the help required is usually organic gardening/farming (no animals, except pets) and general maintenance. However, there are also some interesting building and repair projects from time to time.
Biodiversity is very important to me, so you can expect to find and learn about many different flowers, fruits, vegetables, bushes, trees and other flora and fauna here. Essentially, I'm aiming to create a mini-ecosystem and "oasis" on the homestead with as much biodiversity that is naturally possible and sustainable. With the goal of providing our own natural food, medicine and supplements and attracting a large diversity and abundance of wildlife. We experiment with all the latest, greatest and ancient technologies here, from no-till gardening to electroculture - nothing is off limits as long as it respects and works with nature.
About Me: I’m an ex-IT professional that left the system to pursue a more natural way of life and enjoy my hobbies and interests. I place a huge value on health, truth, freedom, nature, an open-mind, community and life and practice a philosophy of freedom and no-harm.
My hobbies and passions include photography, films and documentaries, fitness and holistic health, psychology, philosophy, the esoteric, research and learning, and spirituality. In my free time I enjoy watching Japanese comedy and game shows.Types of help and learning opportunities

As someone with a broad range of interests and experience, I’d be happy to share knowledge or discuss any of these topics:
- health, fitness, weightlifting/powerlifting and nutrition
- holistic and natural health
- plant-based living and cooking
- sustainable and regenerative living, Permaculture design and living
- digital nomad lifestyle and freelancing

- photography, SEO and social media marketing
- psychology, spirituality and natural healing
- language exchange and practice (English, Afrikaans, Hungarian, German, Dutch)
On the farm and nearby there are also plenty of activities to help keep you healthy and relax, including:
- Sauna and Jacuzzi

While fairly new to DIY and construction, I am highly interested and motivated in these skills, and am happy to learn from others with more experience, as well as teach those with less. The tool shed and workshop is well stocked to tackle most tasks.Help
The majority of the help needed will be for gardening, DIY and maintenance (planting, watering, maintenance, harvesting and preservation, clean up etc). Where possible, I try to include some creative projects too.
You can also help out with cooking, if you like. This is a plant-based homestead, so new creative ways of cooking are always appreciated.
In 2023, our projects/tasks include:
- Raised beds and garden beds construction, irrigation, trellises and garden pathways
- Planting of additional trees, bushes, flowers and garden foods
- Building a small pond
- Building a stone fire pit
- Painting and wood restoration
