Hi!
Me (Mikael) and Marte live at the countryside in Vestland with our two kids (3 and 5 yo) and two cats. We have travelled a lot around the world (also through workaway), and moved to this farm in early 2020. We have continued to renovate the buildings to make this farm shine again. We have recently renovated one of the old buildings on the farm with the help of workawayers. This building is now a big hall that can also be used for yoga and other activities.
There are a lot of different work still to be done. We are looking for 1-2 people (preferably a traveling couple or two friends) who will be willing to help us out on this journey! Families with children are also welcome.
We are an open minded family that have already welcomed people from all over the world. Our kids are also used to new people, love to play and learn from the experience of welcoming new people in to our family for periods.

You will experience how life is at the Norwegian countryside. There's will be lot of cultural learning during the stay, depends on your interests. You can also join us for yoga classes, both in town and at the farm.

Help
At the moment we are doing maintenance on the main building, hopefully we will do some outdoor painting during the summer. We will also need of some help inside the house, like cleaning. There are always work to do with general maintenance on the farm, and it would be nice if you have some carpentry skills, but its not mandatory. We also need some extra help with gardening during spring/summer/fall, if this is of your interest. If you have any other skills, we will be happy to include those in the workday as a secondary priority. It might also be some occational help with the children if you are comfortable with that :)

Accommodation
You will live in the main house in your own room (or shared room) with shared bathroom. The house is over 100yo, a newly renovated timber house that holds a high standard.
We will eat some of the meals together, and some seperate. You will have access to basic groceries (not luxury groceries) to make your own food for the seperate meals. You have access to a large and cozy kitchen where you can cook and also store the food (fridge and freezer).
The yoga hall is free to use when we dont have yoga classes or other arrangements. Your are welcome to join for yoga classes for free when we host classes.
What else ...
We prefer to have two volunteers and that have your own car. Public transport is limited and the nearest town is 15-20 min from the farm. We are going to town regularly, so there will be several opertunities to get there and back, but we cannot adjust our departure time too much.
The nature is just outside the doorstep, so the possibility for exploring the nature is good. Lots of hiking possibilities.
