Description
We live on an organic vegetable farm which is set in 120 acres of forest and located just outside Wicklow Town in ireland. I am an artist and potter and my husband Dan grows vegetables for markets and restaurants. Dan's 13 year old son also lives with us. We are a bike ride away from the town and from beautiful beaches and are surrounded by lush nature and hills.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will be able to live in our family home, learn about organic veg practices help me in my flower garden and in exchange for helping around the house you can explore the local area and have food and board. We have been hosting Wwoofers for 3 years now and love having people from different cultures share our home.

Help
We are looking for help looking after our private organic veg bed that provides food for our home and helping look after the general household tasks of cooking, cleaning and some odd tasks. I am also starting to grow dahlias and other flowers and and as I am a novice I would love help planting and figuring out best practice.

Accommodation
We have a stone built cabin in the garden that has one bunk bed and one single bed, so sleeps three. The beds have warm cosy duvets and pillows and the cabin has heating. Everyone has access to the home, with communal kitchen, dining area and bathroom and workaways have their own sitting room with WIFI and DVD player with lots of movies on offer. We cook together in the evening and have lovely space outside to sit and enjoy the forest walks. Everyone is free to get their own breakfast and lunch, usually a sandwich of some sort and then we share meals and cooking and cleaning up afterwards. We eat a variety of meals from Irish to Asian, Indian and Mexican inspired recipes. And we usually in season mainly eat veg from our own farm.

What else ...
Workawayers are encouraged to be self reliant at the weekends, to explore the surrounding countryside and the rest of Ireland. We provide bikes and we are close to the bus stop and town where you can get connections to places to adventure to. Food is provided at the weekend but meals are less communal as sometimes we are off doing our own thing. We are looking for people who will respect and share our family home, get stuck in and it would work well if they had an interest in learning about growing veg as that is a big part of what we do.
