  • Description

    Hi there,

    I’m Dominika,

It’s been 2 years now since I left my job as a manager in the capital of Wales to embark on a journey of discovering different ways of living, developing skills that can’t be found in a school curriculum, as well as working and connecting with wonderful people along the way.
I’m really grateful for my experience so far as it shifted my perspective on life for the better.

I graduated as a catering manager and have been in the hospitality industry for over a decade.
I've spent these years climbing up the ladder, just to realize that I'm no longer interested in the way of life that the majority follows.

Over the 6 years of living in a multicultural city, I had the chance to meet and make friends with people from many different countries, and learn about their cultures, and different ways of living, and doing things. It really opened up my eyes and got me interested in experiencing it firsthand by traveling.

I worked for big companies and having an insight into how they operate combined with a car accident I had in at the time made me question a lot of things about life and the society we live in.

I realized that I wanted to develop new skills, especially being able to grow food.

After quitting my job in the UK, I spent a year in an eco-village in Ireland where
I was working at a farm that provides fresh organic produce for the local community.
I had a chance to learn about organic vegetable farming as well as get an insight into how an eco-village operates.
It’s been a great experience learning about all aspects of growing and seeing it through the whole year, and now with more practical knowledge at my disposal, I’d like to discover new places where I can give value to people and help with their projects.

I’m mainly interested in organic farming, permaculture, natural building, and of course getting to know the people behind it.

I consider myself a fast learner, open-minded, hardworking, and I easily adapt to new environments.
Even though I’m social, I appreciate spending time by myself as well.

  • More details about your skills

After spending over a decade in the hospitality sector, I have an array of skills related to that from customer service through business management to cooking.

I've worked as a chef as well and cooking is a passion of mine. Apart from just the taste, I find it important to create dishes that are also healthy. I have the skills to create nutritionally complete meals.

After spending a year in Ireland working at a community farm growing organic vegetables, I developed many skills related to growing, like sowing seeds, propagation of plants, transplanting, preparing beds, harvesting, using tools and machinery, seed saving, using and drying herbs, preserving food and crop planning.

I’ve also done some renovations on our family home in Hungary, plastering, painting, etc.

I have been fixing my own bike, so I can do basic bicycle maintenance.

I have grown mushrooms from spores, so I'm able to teach you about mushroom cultivation.

  • What else ...

I love cycling and going on long walks, one of my favorite things to do is to just go without a destination in mind and discover new places by getting lost.
Fortunately, I’ve always managed to find my way back.

I practice yoga, combining movement with breath is so simple yet reaps great benefits.

I don’t watch TV, but I get inspired by people on YouTube. It got me interested in video creation I'd like to learn about videography.

I like to discover new music in all different genres.
