Description
Hey I am Susana and with my collies I am in Portugal for around 6 years now. Since ethe end of April living in my van on a half a hectare of olive groove, I'm building a more self-sustainable home for myself and my loved ones, and I'm looking for help to bring this vision to life.
My idea centres around sensible permaculture, establishing a small but lush food forest (starting this Autumn), implementing strategies to improve soil fertility naturally, and in general creating a harmonious, eco-friendly living space from scratch.
I am a fan of DIY and keeping the budget low but the nails straight ;PTypes of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Plenty of opportunities to learn Portuguese ways at the local café or with my neighbours! The local people are super sweet and you will experience a tiny Portuguese village vibe that exists only here :D There is a vibrant community in the area and lots of local festivals, markets and regular activities, like yoga classes or art workshops, nearby.
Help
I am looking for some help with daily tasks, from tidying up the space, cutting weeds, to - depending on the season - gardening, pruning and harvesting olives, picking material for hydrosols and learning how to make natural cosmetics.
There will be some DIY projects, soil and compost building and making common space nice and pretty. I am happy to share my knowledge about all these areas and learn new things on the way together. It is all about the process :)
How do you know if you are a good fit?
You are happy camping and want to be closer to nature, including mosquitoes and barking deer waking you up at night ;)
You have your own small van.
You are trying to live consciously, be mindful about people and animals around you.
You relate respectfully and know how to communicate your needs.
You enjoy yoga and an active lifestyle.
You like the heat ;P
You are independent and don't need constant entertainment, nor are you always in your phone ;P
...you adore dogs!
If you tick most of it and want to learn new things together, you are very welcome to reach out! There is a big chance you might love it here.Languages
