    Description

    About Us
We are a non profit making initiative who promotes environmental management, waste control and conservation for wildlife species by organizing afforestation programs, sensitizating people about the values of conservation and creating a practical space for people to come and experience the beauty of our wetland by rewarding them with nature walks, birding, hot spring bath, planting trees and story telling etc. The aim is to make sure the current generation benefits from biodiversity without compromising the future generation. Our organisation was founded by Raimon whose passion is to conserve natural environment especially that supports animals to have a conducive environment to live and encouraging people about the values of coexistence. This was his idea since childhood. At the age of 22 he started by forming a club where youth were brought together to learn and practice life skills including birds conservation. The club was then registered as a non profit making organization under the status of community based organization in Kasese Municipality in 2020 for it to be eligible to support more youth in the area.

The organization has active members who dream big and ensures that the vision, mission and objectives are achieved, below is a list of some team leaders.
    1. Raimon- Founder and team leader
    2. Masereka - Field officer
    3. Bwamble -Operations leader
    4. Musoki - Treasurer
    5. Muhindo - secretary

    Our Mission
To encourage youth in bird conservation and afforestation by providing environmental education and awareness.

    Our Vision
To make Uganda the best bird and environmental conservation spot in the world.

    Organization Objectives

    2. To promote tree planting education in primary and secondary schools ( Remember this is season program good timing during rain season.
    3. To evaluate the status of endangered bird species in Uganda
    4. To improve the wellbeing of women , girls and elders through computer and language learning
    5. To influence environmental laws in the Ugandan government
    6. To encourage and support young ladies to work in the tourism industry as professional field guides

    Organization Programs

    1. To Promote Bird's Identification and Conservation

We engage in research to identify bird species, their habitats and come up with the strategies to conserve their habitats. This goes hand in hand with training the community on the importance of birds, bird behavior, and how to conserve them. To make sure that the habitats of birds are maintained, we engage the community in afforestation and protection of the forest. This is done through engaging the community in tree planting and Participatory Forest and swamp Management. We also participate in environmental conservation activities like local litter removal.

    2. Evening Language program for elders

IT has special program of helping elders in our community learn and practice English language so that they can easily communicate with non-lhukozo speakers when executing their daily activities. This program is conducted in the evening because most of this people are busy during the day but in the evening they can have sometimes to seat and learn.

    3. To Develop Birding Tourism

We encourage young women and men to participate in tourism activities by acting as field guides especially on issues of birds. This is done through recruitment and training them on birds and tour guiding. We focus particularly on empowering young women and helping them reach their goals.

    4. Engagement in Environmental Laws and Policies Improvement

In collaboration with other actors in the environmental movement, we engage in the process to advise the government on the implementation of environmental policies which are useful for sustainable environment, We advocate for useful laws to be implemented and to create awareness to the community on the implementation of the policies and laws which aim at protecting the environment.

    6. Language Training Program for women

We have a program to support young women and girls who are coming from low economic status or have failed to go for further studies. This program is intended to help them with English which can be used for securing employment because Kasese there are plenty of Hotel, lodges, and national parks where is much easier to find a job when someone speaks good English , German, French, latin and Spanish.

    7. Provision Of Self Awareness Training to the Youth

To make sure the Youth know their value and contribution to the Nation and World in general, we organize and conduct Self Awareness programs at schools, colleges. These program help them to understand their potential and capabilities, hence use them in positive ways. This is important for "Better Nation Tomorrow," as we say in Uganda.

    8. Computer program

We have a computer training program where youth are trained on how to use internet for official business use. In this area we need expertise who can train us on ICT and Digital and where possible support us computers.

    Our Approach

The approach involves helping with various like-minded stakeholders in carrying on Participatory Initiatives and Innovation Development to make sure the community is part and parcel in their problem solving and hence attain sustainability.

  • Help

    Help

Our organization is multidisciplinary since it works with the community on many sectors like environment, community awareness and education areas. The main thematic area for our organization is birds conservation where we encourage the community to be a part in conserving birds habitat and save the endangered species.

Therefore volunteers with diverse skills are invited to help us especially those who have passion to conserve environment and community wellbeing. People we work with are also in need of help in the other areas of education, language practice, , tourism and hospitality.

In order for the community to meaningfully engage in conservation activities they need alternative means of improving livelihoods, here we are in need of volunteers who will help in training the community on entrepreneurship and help in fundraising.
