Description
We are a family of three (47, 13, 11). In 2022 we bought a beautiful piece of land here near Monsanto. We live very off-grid, solar power, water from a spring, outdoor shower, compost toilet...
We are working on becoming self-sufficient, making our own compost for our garden, planting trees and veggies, making our own olive oil, keeping various animals ( horses, donkeys, sheep, ducks, chicken, dogs, cats) and much more.
On this farm many hands are appreciated. There is always something to do, depending on the season or your preferences:
- weeding the garden
- repairing or setting up fences
- helping with the horses
- harvesting olives in october/ November
- improving our roads
- construction/repairing
...

We live near the beautiful village of Monsanto, probably the most Portuguese village in Portugal. There is also a lot to discover on our own land.
We offer people who come to us the opportunity to get a taste of the life of an offgrid family.
Help
We are looking for motivated people with two right hands.
Helpful would be:
-experience with animals
-Be not afraid of getting dirty

Accommodation
We can currently offer a small caravan on our land, it has water and heating.
We are also happy to welcome people who can be as self-sufficient as possible on our land with their own travelling vehicle, there is plenty of space!
We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner with the family if required.
What else ...
The property is located near the beautiful village of Monsanto. There are several bathing lakes in the neighbourhood and charming hiking trails.
At the right time of year there are many festivals and markets, smaller and larger events (Boom Festival)
As we live offgrid, a good distance from the main road, mobility is recommend, but of course not nessesary!
Our land is farmed without chemicals (organic). We expect respectful treatment of land, people and animals.
Dogs must be kept on a lead in animal areas.

The land ist big enough to host people with campervans. Normal size ( 2,5x to 8 Meter) are No Problem! Please be aware, that the quality of the road is depending on the weather.
Can possibly accept pets
Dogs and Cats are no Problem. Dogs have to be on a lead in the area with our animals and should have a working recall aswell.
