Description
We are a family with two adults and two children (56, 45, 9 and 11). In November 2022, we moved into our 55-hectare off-grid paradise in central Portugal (near the beautiful Monsanto) and are now building it up piece by piece. We are very motivated, want to be as self-sufficient as possible and are happy to welcome people who want to join us in this endeavour.
Chickens, donkeys, horses, sheep, dogs and cats live with us. There is always something to do for the animals, such as repairs, new fences etc.
Our garden is always a work in progress, which we hope will provide us with even more bounty this year and, of course, also feed our helping hands.
The next jobs to be done are
-sealing the kitchenwalls and extending the adjoining outdoor area.
-building a natural swimming pond so that we can all enjoy the Portuguese summer even better
-Construction of a yurt and showers
We are looking for talented handymen who would like to help with one or two projects and are happy to contribute their ideas. Of course, families are also very welcome.
Wir sind eine Familie mit zwei Erwachsenen und zwei Kindern (56, 45, 9 und 11). Im November 2022 sind wir auf unserem 55 Hektar großen Offgrid- Paradies in Zentralportugal ( Nahe dem wunderschönen Monsanto) eingezogen und bauen es nun Stück für Stück auf. Wir sind sehr motiviert, wollen uns möglichst autark aufstellen und freuen uns über Menschen, die uns dabei ein Stück begleiten wollen.
Mit uns leben Hühner, Esel, (demnächst) Pferde, Schafe, Hunde und Katzen. Für die Tiere gibt es immer wieder etwas zu tun wie zb reperaturen, neue Zäune etc.
Immer in Arbeit ist unser Garten, der uns hoffentlich dieses Jahr noch reicher beschenkt und selbstverständlich auch unsere helfenden Hände mit ernähren soll.
Die nächsten Arbeiten, die anstehen sind:
-das Abdichten der Küche und der Ausbau des angeschlossenen Außenbereichs.
-Bau eines Natur Schwimmteichs, damit wir den portugiesisxhen Sommer alle noch besser genießen können
-Aufbau einer Jurte und Duschen
Wir suchen handwerklich begabte Anpacker, die Lust haben, hier bei dem ein oder anderen Projekt mitzuwirken und gerne auch ihre Ideen mit einbringen. Natürlich sind auch Familien bei uns herzlich willkommen.

We live near the beautiful village of Monsanto, probably the most Portuguese village in Portugal. There is also a lot to discover on our own land.
We offer people who come to us the opportunity to get a taste of the life of an offgrid family.
Wir leben in der Nähe des wunderschönen Ortes Monsanto, das wohl portugiesischste Dorf Portugals. Auch auf unserem eigenen Land gibt es viel zu entdecken.
Wir bieten Menschen, die zu uns kommen, die Möglichkeit, in das Leben einer Aussteigerfamilie hineinzuschnuppern.
Help
We are looking for motivated people with two right hands.
Helpful would be: Experience in pond building, woodworking, water, bricklaying, permaculture or similar or simply an all-rounder.
Wir suchen motivierte Menschen mit zwei rechten Händen.
Hilfreich wären: Erfahrungen im Bereich
Teichbau, Holzbearbeitung, Wasser, Maurertätigkeiten, Permakultur o.ä oder einfach einen Allrounder.

Accommodation
We can currently offer a small caravan on our land. Also wenn have a room in the House. We are also happy to welcome people who can be as self-sufficient as possible on our land with their own travelling vehicle, there is plenty of space!
We offer breakfast and dinner with the family if required, also Snacks during the day.
Wir können zurzeit einen kleinen Wohnwagen auf unserm Land anbieten. Gerne begrüßen wir auch Menschen, die mit ihrem eigenen Reisegefährt möglichst autark auf unserem Land stehen können, Platz ist genug!
Wir bieten bei Bedarf Frühstück und Abendessen mit der Familie an, ein paar Snacks über den Tag gibt es auch.
What else ...
The property is located near the beautiful village of Monsanto. There are several bathing lakes in the neighbourhood and charming hiking trails.
At the right time of year there are many festivals and markets, smaller and larger events (Boom Festival)
As we live offgrid, a good distance from the main road, mobility is recommend.
Our land is farmed without chemicals (organic). We expect respectful treatment of land, people and animals.
Dogs must be kept on a lead in animal areas.
Das Grundstück befindet sich nah dem wunderschönen Dorf Monsanto. Es gibt einige Badeseen im Umkreis und charmante Wanderstrecken.
Zur richtigen Jahreszeit gibt es viele Feste und Märkte, kleinere und größere Veranstaltungen (Boom-Festival)
Da wir offgrid, ein gutes Stück von der Hauptstraße entfernt leben, ist Mobilität empfohlen.
Unser Land wird chemiefrei (Bio) bewirtschaftet. Wir erwarten einen respektvollen Umgang mit Land, Mensch und Tieren.
Hunde müssen in Bereichen der Tiere an der Leine geführt werden.

The land ist big enough to host people with campervans. Normal size ( 2,5x to 8 Meter) are No Problem!
Can possibly accept pets
Dogs and Cats are no Problem. Dogs have to be on a lead in the area with our animals and should have a working recall aswell.
