    Description

    Hi
My name is Michel, I’m french and I’m 65.
I live in my house in Augan, a little village near Ploermel in Britanny. 3 cats live with me, one is often in the house and the two others live outside.
I have 3 children (34,30 and 21). The youngest, my daughter, who travels a lot, started going on workaways when she was 18 and she really loved it, that is why I decided to try as I need some help with Spring coming.
I do speak a bit of English and I would be more than happy to help you practice your French, and coming to France is already an important step towards learning this language. I’m also open to learn about new languages and different cultures.
I have a large garden and a greenhouse that need some maintenance. I also have a natural pool, a wood cabin in the trees, some hens, a old outdoor oven
The general works around the house and the property are as followed but they can vary from day to day or if you have any ideas to share to make the place better :) :
    -cutting edges/ clearing edges
    -Gardening and removing weeds
    -clearing the greenhouse
-cleaning the bees house for honey
    -planting trees/seeds
    -renovating the old outside oven
    ...

The food provided will be organic, no meat (I eat fish) and coming from local producers as much as possible. If you have any allergy or specific diet just let me know and will work this out. The meals will be “self service”, that means you will cook your own food (with the other volunteers or not as you wish) and some day we can eat all together if you’d like. I wish to keep some freedom, so you can have yours, but I’ll always be around to advice you about the region, the work on the land, or if you wish to talk to practice your French.

For the sleeping, you will have you own space in the little part of the house (sticks to the main house but can only be entered by a outside door) which has a kitchen, washing machines, a dryer, a bathroom, a room with a double bed and a little dormitory with two single bed. We can arrange the sleeping situation once you arrived or before if you have any preference.

I often go to the village or to the town near by to do some shopping or general needs so I’ll be more than happy if you want to join and discover around.
Britanny is lovely and people are really welcoming especially in the countryside. You’ll have your weekend off to check this by yourself or you can also chill at home, you’re 100% free from Friday afternoon to Sunday night.

Minimum stay in one week, so you can get use to the routine.
There is the famous “Forêt de Brocéliande” (King Arthur and his knights) 15 min from the house, full of history and magic, where I can bring you.
The “capital” of Britanny Rennes is a 40 min drive away, as well as the very cute city of Vannes and so is the Atlantic Ocean, where i can also bring you or see for buses for you to go there.
In both of those city there is lots to do and discover, so you’ll find your way there for sure.(I can put you in contact with my daughter Clarisse for some recommendation as she studies in Rennes 🎉).
I also have plenty of bicycles you can borrow when you want.
