    Description

We are a group of educational institutions based in Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia, focused on offering affordable education to children in need. We provide classes in English, Mathematics, Chinyanja, Social Sciences, Religious Education, Civics, Biological Sciences, French, Physical Education, and Vocational Skills to children from Preschool to Ninth Grade (that includes the first two years of secondary education in Zambia). Our facilities also include a space for low-income, young mothers to learn and practice their sewing skills, so that they may bring more money to their families.

We welcome teachers in any of our offered subjects, and are particularly interested in hosting Physical Education teachers and French teachers.

Our vision is to create a safe world for every child to learn and grow in – our school motto being “We share because we care.”

We are looking for energetic, open-minded volunteers over the age of 18 who can assist us with teaching. English teachers and native English speakers in particular can be very helpful for our students to learn from. While it can be challenging to dive in and teach upon arrival, your creativity and unique background will bring many benefits to our pupils. We pride ourselves on being flexible in which subjects you teach and how; volunteers who like to take initiative and connect with our students will gain the most out of working here.

We do ask that our volunteers stay with us a minimum of 4 weeks so that they have a good amount of time to connect and share with our students.

Projects we have in mind that we would like people to help with are: training students to use computers and online services, or assisting with drama, writing, or reading.

If you have particular training or knowledge of entrepreneurial skills or sewing skills, they would be most appreciated at our sewing instruction center.

Zambia is a beautiful country with much to see. We are home to the mighty Victoria Falls, multiple national parks with a variety of wildlife, and many game parks and zoos for viewing wild animals. There are often traditional ceremonies held in our community which are wonderful to see. Zambians pride themselves on being a friendly, generous, Christian nation, and we hope to welcome more people from all areas of the world soon.
