There is a nice Italian expression: “andare d’amore e d’accordo”, which means to get along perfectly well. And Maor and I went along perfectly well! How could we not? He likes to cook and I was very happy to find every lunch and dinner ready; he likes to fix things and in our house something breaks every other day; I try to learn English and he

What else... Maor came into our family in a gentle and kind way, he made us laugh with his catch phrases (ciao ciao bambino and è finita la commedia, which I quickly discovered fit every situation), helped me out with the housework, solved old problems and painted objects to new...
He often chatted in English with Federico, who easily changed his eating habits to hummus, carrot tortillas and vegan meatballs (immediately renamed meatballs Maor), not to mention falafel! How satisfying!
Thank you Maor for the great dinners you prepared for our guests, for being so helpful and lighthearted. We will miss you, but we will wait for you back in Brescia soon, because you haven't visited the castle yet!
In the meantime, we wish you a safe and wonderful trip and enjoy Italy!

What an absolute delight it was to be welcomed into the warm embrace of the enchanting Beatrice and her wonderful son, Federico! From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was charged with a sense of family and camaraderie that made my heart swell with joy. As Beatrice introduced me to her family, and I felt an immediate connection with each of them. Preparing meals for them felt more like a joyous celebration than a task, and our conversations flowed effortlessly, rich with stories and laughter. Each family member brought a unique spark to the table, and I found myself captivated by their fascinating lives. They truly broke down my walls, and I rarely let anyone into my heart so easily!
I threw myself into helping Beatrice with various DIY projects, cooking up vegan delicious dishes, and even tidying up. Every task became a shared adventure, and I cherished every moment spent in their company. Teaching Beatrice and Federico English was not just about language; it was a delightful exchange filled with giggles and learning, and I relished every chance to absorb some Italian from them in return.
From the depths of my soul, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for the perfect hospitality and the unforgettable experience you all gifted me. I already find myself missing you all, and I dream of the day I can come visit you again :)

Beatrice is a wonderful host. I spent one week with her, her lovely (grown up) kids and the talkative cat in their really big flat in beautiful Brescia. The work was simple (reorganising and cleaning some storage space and the kitchen). She is a great cook, a really good teacher (Italian for foreigners) and generally funny, kind and very open

She even took me out on a day trip with her friends - who are all just as nice as Beatrice - to a beautiful nearby lake. I thoroughly enjoyed that week.
