Our Backpackers Lodge and Guest House is located on the outskirts of Livingstone Town Centre, 8 kms from the Victoria Falls, in Zambia.
The Lodge has 24 rooms; including deluxe rooms, standard twin/double rooms, basic twins and dormitory accommodation and employs over 20 local Zambian staff in varying roles which include receptionists, barman, kitchen staff, gardeners, drivers, housekeepers and security and maintenance staff.
The lodge has a relaxed, chilled out atmosphere and attracts a variety of guests of all ages. Set in lush green gardens, shaded by mango trees with a crystal clear swimming pool, and bar and cafe, it is still centrally located, a stone's throw away from a shopping centre and Livingstone's favourite bars, cafes and restaurants, but behind it walls, it remains secluded and away from the hustle bustle of the town.
Helping with Tourists
As a volunteer at our lodge, you get to live just 8 kms from one of the world's natural wonder, the Victoria Falls; experience world class game viewing in the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park or Chobe National Park and have access to a cornucopia of activities. You will experience the warm, friendly hospitality of Zambian people and meet many interesting travellers.
Our Backpackers Lodge in Livingstone, Zambia is offering a volunteer position as Guest Host, Professional Mingler, Social Butterfly, vibe-creator and General Showman/Show-woman.
In exchange for your free board and lodging (accommodation, meals, and small bar tab allocation), and access to some world class activities, you must have the ability to do the following:
• Mingle with and entertain guests and bring guests together socially.
• Encourage guests to eat, drink and book activities at the Lodge. (You will need to be able to create a fun vibe which makes guests want to remain in the Lodge for their entertainment.)
You will have a private room with ensuite bathroom. The lodge has a swimming pool, bar, cafe, pool table and a mini salon. Your daily meals, accommodation and small allocation of drinks and some activities will be taken care of, but you would be responsible for any additional costs including your own travel expenses, initial (volunteer) visa on arrival, travel insurance, pocket money and any additional activities that you may want to do that we are unable to arrange for you.
On your days off, you can relax by our swimming pool, enjoy one of the local markets nearby, go to the movies, go for lunch beside the Zambezi River, go to the Falls, enjoy some of Livingstone's favourite activities, enjoy sundowners at one of the smart hotels on the river, go dancing at the nearby clubs etc.
