    Description

Our organization believes that none of us should be left to endure suffering of any kind. For this reason, we try to mobilize local people and our international visitors to live and work together in harmony as we try to provide care and support to the less fortunate ones such as orphans and vulnerable children, particularly those eking a living begging on the streets.

We run a our Community School in the community. This is basically a day school whereby children of school going age in the community who may not be able to go to government schools due to one reason or another, particularly orphans and vulnerable children, "DROP-IN" to receive quality and affordable education.

The youths who may have prematurely dropped-out of school due to circumstances beyond their control equally come to the center to acquire vocational skills which may enable them to start life anew such as mechanics, welding , carpentry and bricklaying.

Workawayers coming to serve with us may be expected to help teach in school according to their area of specialization; undertake maintenance works around the school and help-out in our community and street outreaches. This work entails going out in the field to give-out food parcels to vulnerable households in shanty compounds or dish out warm meals to street kids.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Workawayers would definitely have an opportunity to learn our local language and also get accustomed to our traditional and cultural practices including songs, folktales and dances. They also get a chance to go fishing in our rivers during their free time or visiting the curio market for souvenirs.
First and foremost, they will get to learn about the way of life of local people and of course those visiting from different cultures through daily interactions, conversations, stories, music and dances. In addition to this, they will have an opportunity to develop an open mind and become more independent while appreciating new perspectives and ways of living as they meet new people from all over the world.

  • Help

    Help

We are always on the look for extra hands to come and join hands with us working at our projects. Charity work - we aim to provide care and support to vulnerable people in society; we expect workawayers to help out at our Community School where children from around the community come to access quality and affordable education. Volunteers may either work as assistant teachers, help carry-out maintenance work, provide after school tuition to students in subjects such as Math, Science and English. Apart from helping handout food parcels to vulnerable households, they will help out in our street outreach to children living on the streets by playing games with them, helping provide skills training to them (carpentry, welding, bricklaying and plumbing), facilitating hospital visits and preparing warm meals for them.
