    Nestled in the charming village of Barrydale on the border of the Overberg and Klein Karoo region of the Western Cape Province in South Africa, the project offers more than just a tranquil escape. Our unique bnb accommodation features Wooden Barn .3 x cozy caravans and a teepee, set amidst the serene beauty of our small farm.
    But what makes it truly special is our dedication to community and sustainability.

    My name is Graham, and I invite you to join us. Here, we don’t just provide a place to stay; we offer an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Our smallholding farm is the heart of several community-based projects aimed at fostering growth, education, and sustainability.

    Our Initiatives
    Barrydale:
    Our non-profit organization is dedicated to enhancing the lives of Barrydale's residents.
    We building permaculture gardens to ensure food security,we do retreats and teach permaculture at the rest camp where we are situated. Additionally, we engage with local youth development ,teaching film and photography and organize various other projects that support the community.

    How You Can Help
    We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a range of skills to help us in our mission. Whether you are a fundraiser, permaculture teacher, builder, film maker,editor, webdesigner or mentor, social media expert your contributions will be invaluable.
    Here are some of the ways you can get involved:

    Fundraising: Help us secure the resources we need to sustain and expand our projects.
    Teaching: Share your knowledge and skills with our community, particularly in areas like permaculture, arts, crafts, and education. web design ,film making and editing.
    Building and Repairs: Assist in renovating our facilities and constructing new community spaces.
    Mentoring: Guide and support local youth and community members in developing new skills and achieving their goals in telling their stories and marketing our Village and all it has to offer.

    We need assistance with our permaculture farm were we teach permaculture practices, compost making, medicinal plant medicine and other artisan skills like Carpentry,welding, sustainable building, Photography and film making, We would like work aways that can help with making educational videos or help teach the skills that we are offering and help with social media and sharing this important information to the world.
    Help with General maintenance around the property and coordinating events and classes,
    Web design ,filming ,Editing and social media skills would be a great help,

    The Work aways will be eating with us and help making communal meals twice a day, We don't expect more that 3 hours a day 5 day a week while staying except when we have a workshop and need help for a 5 h a day.

    There are Hot Springs close by
    There is a beautiful Mountain Pass with Rock pools and mountain hikes with Bushman paintings.
    The Sanbona Wildlife Reserve ( Big 5 ) and Grootvadersbosh Nature Reserve (Redwood Forrest) are both only 30 km away.
    Barrydale town itself has many lovely shops and restaurants and a historical past..
    We have The Joubert Tradauw Wine farm and many other lovely local destinations and music venues like
    Karoo Saloon .Ronnies Sexy Shoppub just outside town.
    There are cycling and hicking trails on your doorstep.
    There are daily minnibus taxi's that can take you to the closest BIG Towns . Montagu 64km to one side of Barrydale and Swellendam and Heidelberg 44km away,
    Suurbraak that is an old missionary station now a village is a great place to visit only 17 km away where cows and horses still walk the trees and there is a vibrant Alternative Seld Sustainable community there to visit.
    The spring Flowers are a highlight and the fruit picking and summer festivals and events are a highlight of the year,
    We have a Photographic Studio and a Darkroom on the property and host Analog Photography Weekends this is a great opportunity for those that love old school Analog Photography to have lots of Fun,
    We run the Playground Skatepark for the youth which is fun to be involved in,
    We are busy setting up the Barrydale Tourism Center that will open up many new opportunities.
