Description
Hi. My name is Marco, Dutch passport. I live on my traditional sailing ship on the Portuguese coast and sail the islands in the Atlantic Ocean, just came back 2 days ago from Azores. Right now i am in Cascais Lisbon.
Time for maintenance again, and so time for you to step on board to help out and get the experience of living on a ship.
It's a come and go of people here on board, it's always dynamic and always a social happening here.
We do sail when we have to go somewhere or when we like to go for a sunset cruise. But don't expect that we sail everyday. At the moment i am waiting for a favourable wind to sail and discover the north of Portugal.

You’ll have the opportunity to experience what it's like to live on a ship. A vessel like ours always requires care and attention, so maintenance is a continuous process—and you’ll get to learn some valuable skills along the way.
Besides we sailed the ship all around the world for the last 10 years and we got plenty stories to tell, and experiences to share
When we head out to sea, and if you're interested, I’d be happy to teach you everything about sailing, navigation, weather patterns, safety, tender driving, and more. With years of experience, I genuinely enjoy sharing my knowledge with eager and curious newcomers.
If this sounds like an adventure you’d love to be a part of, don’t hesitate to reach out! We look forward to hearing from you.Help
Over the past two years, we've been fortunate to have had the help of many wonderful Workawayers from all over the world, and it’s been a truly positive experience each time!
.The jobs involved:
Sail repairs (I'll teach)
Painting, lots of that always
Cleaning
House hold tasks. Also lots.
Some diy when you have the skills.
And many other things.
So when you think you can be of help, and are excited to contribute to life on a beautiful sailing vessel.then i love to hear from you.Languages

Still learning Portugese and i will keep learning the coming years, i hope.Accommodation
The ship is 28 meters over all and has plenty space and everything on board. Besides all the safety and navigation systems: 2 toilets, 2 hot showers, heating system for the colder days, good beds (you will have your own cozy cabin), fully equipped kitchen, plenty water and electricity, sound system and even a movie projector. So don't think it's a sort of survival here, it's very comfy here on our own little island.
