Description
Hello dear welder😁
We are Marco, Mathies and Oli.
We got some welding jobs on board in Peniche Portugal and I, Marco, am short in time at the moment, can you please help us with this? Even a few days would already be great!
What do we offer?
Living on a ship at anchor. I, Marco, am captain, ships builder and general builder/carpenter so you might learn a thing or two. You live on board our sailing ship on anchor so you will experience what this life means and what comes and goes with it. We are with 3 till 4 people. Some weekends and when the weather is good we go sailing, just up and down and we make trips to the Berlenga Islands always in combination with fishing. But don't expect that we sail a lot, it might happen that were dont sail out a few weeks. We do make often fishing trips with the tender. Peniche has some fun nightlife and it’s just a short 2 minutes dingy ride away. Some say Peniche is the best surf location from whole Europe. Furthermore there is endless beach, rocky cliffs for hikes and bikes and we go to places by car, myself I haven't seen the big waves in Nazare and would love to go with a big swell forecast to have a look. There is also a gym on walking distance you can go. In the evening we often play card and die games, drink something, play and listen music, watch a movie and just enjoy life as it comes. Summer is back here! You got your own cozy cabin we got 2 toilets and 2 showers, hot and cold running water and everything else we desire. All your food and non drinks are covered we do 3 meals a day. Alcoholic drinks are not included, so buy your own stock.
The last 10 years the ship has been sailing all around the world to many of the most beautiful places, and more to come! We can tell you all about it. The ship is a traditional brigantine, built in 1957 in Denmark out of timber. Measures 20 meter from bow to stern and 28 meter over all. The ship has 4 cabins, 2 bathrooms, a spacious deck house with galley and all the comfort, good beds, hot showers and everything needed to have a good life on board. You will have your own private cabin (room) and we make 3 meals a day. If you like to know more than just send a message with alllllll your questions! Ciao Marco.Types of help and learning opportunities

The maritime world is culture on its own and by most people unknown. It’s a refreshing "out of the box world" full with adventures people, but with their feed on the ground ;-) Many people get hooked to boatlife and the sea after getting to know it. We here on board are always happy to have people, it’s often a come and go. We love to meet new people and make friends. Always nice to learn from each other, can be all kind of skills, ways of looking at the world, arts, games, languages, music etc etc. Often boaters get together to exchange story's and experiences. Volunteers (or actually crew) You will get the experience of how life on a sailing ship is and what it all takes. Besides that, captain Marco is a experienced sailor but also a shipwright and is always willing (and needs) to teach others the traditional skills that are needed to maintain a ship like this. It's fun and inspiring to work together. But spending free time off is just as important.
Help
We got some welding jobs to do for a man or woman. You don't need to be a pro but you need to be able to do a bit of upsidedown welding and see and control the bath. When you think now, bath??? 🛀🏽 than please try later again when we got other jobs again.
Besides welding there is always things that can or need to be done. Carpentry, rigging, painting etc.Languages

You will stay on board and have your own cabin. 2 showers and toilets, hot and cold running water, heating, galley and 2 tenders to go to shore, sound system. We mostly eat together and play cards and roll the dice for cooking and dishes or just cook together! But you can also go your own way ofcourse.

Because, Ingrid has a strong drive to work and to get things done. Often I was surprised by what all was done when I came back on board. These jobs included sanding, filling, painting, cooking, cleaning and general house/boathold things.

Fer cooked very nice food for the crew, took care of the ship with cleaning etc, she did those tasks very well. Besides that she sanded a lot of wood to prepare for painting, also that was done well. She speaks Portuguese, Spanish and I am sure she will speak English in a few weeks because… read more
I spend two weeks on the boat and had a great time and a lot of laughs with Marco and the workaway crew. Marco is a good host, and you will be well taken care of.
I had a great week on the boat. Marco explains exactly what he wants and how. He always has an open ear for questions and he takes great care of his helpers.
You can learn a lot of new things but you really need basic and extended craftsmanship and strength. Especially during the dry docking… read more
