    Description

Hi. I was originally trying to make a living as a musician back in the uk, but brexit forced my hand and I had to leave. So I ended up in a small village beneath the mountains of Lousa in central Portugal. I have a small plot of land that already has fig, olive, orange and plum trees but i want to start growing my own crops. It´s all a bit new to me and with a lot of work still to be done on the house, it´s a bit overwhelming. So I´m looking for someone with green fingers or DIY skills or both. The local area is very green with lots of walking paths. Two towns are within 3 miles and the city of Coimbra is just 10 miles away. My village has a bar. In the summer there are two local river beaches and also two outdoor pools.

Accommodation is basic, as I´m still working on the house, but it suffices.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

There are usually local events going on on a regular basis, be it walks, festas, exhibitions etc where you can meet the locals. I can share knowledge and skills around music and composition. I am always keen to learn new things from different cultures and see how they might benefit me or my local community.

So I´m looking for someone with green fingers or who enjoys hands-on projects or both. There is 1000 sq metres of land with some Olive, orange and plum trees. The rest is kind of wild. I need to tame some of this and create a vegetable plot. So there will be weeding, tilling the soil, planting and pruning. So I need help in those areas and happy for any ideas! Also I need to set up an irrigation system from my water tank. The house has two gardens that I would like to turn into areas for herbs and bee attracting plants. So here its weeding, clearing, and planting. The house needs some TLC. Other general stuff would be wall painting, floor sanding and general sprucing up! Any help in any of these areas would be great! as i´m snowed under..
