Description
Hi Workawayer Community
My name is Dilay and I live in a rural house near Köyceğiz in Toparlar village in the middle of nature. I am new to Workaway, but am looking forward to hosting people at my home.
Here’s a little bit about me :).
I am the founder of a school. We are a self-funded extra curricular nature programme where we take the children into the forest and teach them about animals, plants and let them explore the forest through creative games and play. From time to time I also organize and participate in Forest Camps, but my week usually consists of me working either in the forests in central Koycegiz or at my home.
I have two children, my son is called Manas (8 years old) and my daughter, Şayen (9 years old). They are lovely children, very polite and well behaved. I also have two very friendly dogs and one beautiful cat and two Rabbit.
I can speak good basic English, but am looking forward to learning more also :). I am relaxed and sociable… love music, art and being creative in nature.
I am looking host workawayers for at least 1 weeks or longer if it works well for both of us.
I really look forward to hearing from you and seeing how you can join my lovely family and help me with my day to day life in the sun!

Workawayers will get to experience how family life is in Turkey as we will be spending our time together. As a family we often have people over and we cook and eat with family and friends. You will experience traditional Turkish cooking and we love having mangal (Turkish Barbecue) nights with friends of all ages, which include dancing and music being played into the night.
There are also lots of historical and cultural sites, such as the ruins of Kaunos city, Kaunos Tombs, mud baths in Sultaniye and if you are lucky you might even be able to see the Turtles hatching on İztuzu beach near Dalyan! All of these places are within easy reach by local buses or boats. If you are a biker or like to cycle you may do day trips to all these sites. Not to mention countless number of coves to explore in the area.
I also have lots of interesting artistic and outdoorsy friends who i can introduce you to, they would be happy to show you around - Turkish hospitality is known to be one of the most welcoming so you will always feel surrounded by friends!Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
being a single mom of two beauties, i generally need help in these areas:
- cleaning the house
- taking care of the land, planting and etc
- fixing and repairing of the house and the structures in the garden
in general doing whatever it takes to maintain a living in nature. this list might expand, in order to be clear, i will be giving a written list of what needs to be done to every workawayer.Languages

I want to improve my english and I want my children to learn a bit of what language you speakAccommodation
You are welcome to put your motor house(caravan) or your tent (or I can provide one) on my land. I can provide your needs as tent, sheets, pillows ör stuff like mats for the two persons at the same time. And you are also welcome to use the kitchen and bathroom in the house.
I can provide food for you to cook. I will also cook some days and we can eat together which i love to do or you can help yourself to use the food that is in the fridge. What else ...
My home is very peaceful, surrounded by nature and no neighbours. It is a 10 minute drive to the centre of Koycegiz, which is a lovely small town on Koycegiz lake - it is a really beautiful, magical place. There are bars, shops and restaurants… a great place to explore in your free time. I go into Koycegiz most days, so can drop you in town if you would like to explore.

She was very welcoming and I felt integrated as a full member of her entourage. And I ate very well : her cooking is delicious.
New Year's Eve around a campfire was memorable.
