Description
Located on the Coral Coast of Viti Levu, Fiji we are a sweet spot surrounded by an evolving permaculture garden with a vision regenerative living and enjoying nature to the fullest! The homestead is large and we are in the process of creating retreat packages that involve exchanges in Nature for Wellbeing, Spirituality & Creativity.
We often have build projects on and welcome all sorts of build & utility skills, landscapers, permaculture and restorative agriculture/ organic gardeners, renewable energy and water systems experts, artists, food preservation enthusiasts to co-create together.
You should enjoy dogs and be willing and happy to get your hands earthed and sweaty.
If you are able, I may ask that you bring something that we have difficulty getting here.. cheese, nuts or organic seeds, tea/coffee. We live in a semi rural space with beautiful beaches and great surf spots- (Hideaway, Sigatoka river mouth & Natadola) Sand dunes National Park, local villages, and are 10 mins out of Sigatoka town.
Accommodation and breakfast in exchange for 4 hours work per day. Weekends are off where you go out to sightsee and you take care of all your own meals on these days. Please make time to visit the local market for your supplies for your meals. You have full use of your own kitchen specifically for volunteers. We have a community pot luck dinner on Fridays where you are welcome to share your cooking skills with a contribution dish to share, we do love trying new dishes and sharing ideas on food :)
In your free time, You can beachcomb, swim, surf, kayak, trek, visit our sand dunes national park or pottery villages. We prefer that you go out during your 'off' time especially if here during weekends.. There are lots to see and do!!
Time frame is 2 weeks + depending on availability and exchange. We prefer to have a face to face online connection beforehand to meet you so we both get a feel of our connection.
It takes 1.5 hours to get here from the airport and buses are frequent. For Internet access you can purchase a data plan sim from $25-30 FJD at the airport or if you plan a longer stay, I would suggest getting a local sim after you get here as rates are much better.
You must arrive at ours before 6:30 pm and during a week day, we don't normally receive volunteers from Friday -Sunday.
When contacting us, please state what skills/ talents/ sharing you are able to offer for exchange. and we look forward to meeting and welcoming you.Types of help and learning opportunities
