Located on the Coral Coast of Viti Levu, we are a local family cultivating a space to share exploratory experiences of peace, creativity, nature nurturance and restoration. We are also on a journey of learning to grow a permaculture garden/Food forest as well as restore a marine area and we love all sorts of eco projects. We are looking for carpenters, plumbers, eco-builders, landscapers, permaculture enthusiasts, marine conservationist and organic gardeners, to co-create together. We also run a small craft outfit and often need help in the accounting side of things so experience in bookkeeping and accounting is always a great help!
We have a performance project in a nesting phase, so also interested in folks with experience in stage performance and camera work/ lighting etc.
You should enjoy dogs and be willing and happy to get your hands earthed and sweaty.
If you are able, I may ask that you bring something that we have difficulty getting here.. like dried herbs, cheese, nuts or organic seeds, tea. We live in a semi rural space with beautiful beaches and great surf spots- (Hideaway, river mouth & Natadola) sand dunes, local villages, and are 10 mins out of Sigatoka town.
Accommodation and a light breakfast of fruit and cereal in exchange for 5 hours work per day. Weekends are off where you go out to sightsee and you take care of all your own meals on these days. Please make time to visit the local market for your supplies for your meals. You have full use of your own kitchen specifically for guests and volunteers. We have a community pot luck dinner on Fridays where you are welcome to share your cooking skills with a contribution dish to share, we do love trying new dishes and sharing ideas on food :)
In your free time, You can beachcomb, swim, surf, kayak, trek, visit our sand dunes national park or pottery villages. We prefer that you go out during your 'off' time especially if here during weekends.. There are lots to see and do!!
Time frame begins at 1 week depending on availability and exchange.
It takes 1.5 hours to get here from the airport and buses are frequent. For Internet access you can purchase a data plan sim from $25 FJD with Vodafone at the airport or if you plan a longer stay, I would suggest getting a local sim after you get here as rates are much better.
You must arrive at ours before 6:30 pm and during a week day, we don't receive volunteers from Friday -Sunday.
When contacting us, please state what skills/ talents/ sharing you are able to offer for exchange. Vinaka
