  Description

  Dear future guest,
  this is an invitation to come and give me a hand running a small family business, a household and a garden. In return you get to live in a little paradise with frequent guests who come for OM Chantings, Yoga, Music: anything enjoyable on the alternstive way of life.
  This place is located in an outer district of Vienna, in 3 min walking distance of a very beautiful public garden and a natural lake. Public transport is 2 minutes away and you reach the City centre in 35 minutes during rush-hour, 45 on weekends.
  Due to a big international family I am used to host guests and we hosted guestchildren via AFS. This place has also been a sharehouse for a while.
  So, if you'd like to come and help, I guarantee you will have your own room for your privacy, the house also has two bathrooms and only the kitchen is reserved for business as well as for private living. Therefor the kitchen needs to be tidy all the time and that and shopping and light cooking could be part of your tasks.
  You have Internet access and everything you need to feel welcome!
  
  I myself am 56, I work in adult education, am a buddhist and have been a long term traveller and did workaway myself in my youth.
  This a buddhist home and Seminar house, so I ask to totally refrain from drugs and alcohol at home and no casual Sex- but otherwise I promise there are no other restrictions to your lifestyle! 😀

  Since I had been a long time traveller myself, backpacking and working my way all through Australia, New Zealand and SE Asia, I always hoped to be able to "give back" one day.
  Now I need YOUR help to do so :-)
  
  We are true Viennese, but come from an international family. We are bilingual in German and English. If you have the patience to learn with a 94 year old, my father can help you to upgrade your German skills or basic English. My daughter is fluent in Italian and Spanish, too, but does not live with us any more.
  I can provide you with anything you need to know about the City of Vienna, including best spots and culture/music, bits of history or art, whatever your interests are.
  Generally I am most interested in photography, art and music and nature.
  
  Vienna waits for you!

  Help

  GARDEN
  I repeatedly need cleaning up the garden and preparing vegetable patches and flower beds and such. If you apply for the garden you don't have to be an expert, But I'd like you to have some basic gardening experience.
  
  RENOVATING
  I'm looking for someone used to (either/or)
  O renovate a wooden ceiling and paint a wooden door (take off old varnish and paint in white)
  O renovate a metal garage door
  O do general woodwork (little projects around the garden)
  
  Please apply for any of these renovating tasks only if you have done it before. If you know which tools you use and how varnishing works and how to prepare before (tape and such) and clean up afterwards too.
  
  Creative people welcome! But experience is needed, too.
  
  CLEANING AND CLEARING
  No special skills needed but some motivation, since we have had a building site and the garage and cellar are REALLY dusty and need cleaning AND organizing (see picture from garage...)
  If you are a person who can clean up a mess and maybe even love to organize space you should apply immediately :-)

  All languages Welcome! I have a special interest in Hindi/Sanskrit and a great need to improve/learn French (started but never got fluent) Some basic skills of Russian also exist

  Accommodation

  You get your own room / double room and even your own bathroom on request. Rooms available for Zoom/Whatsapp Viewing beginning of August
  
  We have a spacious kitchen and with guests it is easy going - if someone cooks what the other likes, too, we share and if we have different tastes and habits, we cook separately.
  
  Public transport: Tram #26, which joins 3 tube-lines. Vienna is a great place to get around on public transport. Alternatively you can ride my bike. Private parking lot available, too.

  Beautiful recreation areas in 4 Min walking distance:
  Badeteich Hirschstetten: a natural lake for swimming and recreation
  Blumengärten Hirschstetten: a beautiful and huge public garden with many different plants and Cafés.
  Vienna City Center: 30 - 45 Min on public transport (Tramstop near the house)

  Normal remote workplace, Zoom, Skype etc is fine, but huge uploads/downloads are a bit slow on the WLAN.

  Depending on your skills - the gate is rather small. Overlenght Vans almost impossible, 6m can be done if you are an experienced driver.
