    Description

    Dear future guest,
this is an invitation to come and give me a hand to look after my 95 year old father. Professionals take care of health issues, your chores would be to look after his meals and be a patient person to look after his meals, household chores and generally "be a good soul". He is 95 and comes home from a medical crisis, but has his full wits nd is a very open, friendly personality.
Please apply only if you have some experience and the patience and heart for dealing with aged people. Shopping, running errands, cooking soups or porridge and sharing a meal a day and some light (and interesting!) conversations would be your tasks!
Maybe also giving me a hand in maintaining the garden, thats optional.

In return you get to live in a little paradise with frequent guests who come for OM Chantings, Yoga, Music: anything enjoyable on the alternative way of life.
This place is located in an outer district of Vienna, in 3 min walking distance of a very beautiful public garden and a natural lake. Public transport is 2 minutes away and you reach the City centre in 35 minutes during rush-hour, 45 on weekends.
Due to a big international family I am used to host guests and some GREAT work had been done by former workawayers around my house last two years.
Please refer to the calender first: no availability means no availability: in those times I won't check messages regularly!
I am a relatively flexible host, but now I really need someone with a experience, so please apply only if you are self-organized in househild chores, easy cooking AND have experience with elderly, either in your own family or even as a professional...
You will have your own room for your privacy, the house also has two bathrooms, but the kitchen is reserved for business as well as for private living,
You have your own room, Internet access and everything you need to feel welcome in a suburban surrounding that invites for walks, jogging or cycling
    Musicians welcome!

My father lives next door, he speaks german and english. You need to be fluent in either or.

Timetables depend on my work shedule, which is different every week due to being selfemployed. Most times it would be somewhere between 9:30 and mid-afternoon, probably, to visit him and share a meal or look after whatever is needed.

I myself am 58, I work in adult education, am a buddhist and have been a long term traveller and did workaway myself in my youth.
This a buddhist home and Seminar house, so no drugs, no alcohol, and no mess at home, but otherwise I promise there are no other restrictions to your lifestyle! 😀

If you want to give me a hand you should just love people, be able to cook and have the heart and patience ( being exerienced) with the elderly. Being flexible in time and used to work independently.
    💙

Since I had been a long time traveller myself, backpacking and working my way all through Australia, New Zealand and SE Asia, I always hoped to be able to "give back" one day.
Now I need YOUR help to do so :-)

We are true Viennese, but come from an international family. We are bilingual in German and English. If you have the patience to learn with a 95 year old, my father can probably help you to upgrade your German skills.

I can provide you with anything you need to know about the City of Vienna, including best spots and culture/music, bits of history or art, whatever your interests are.

Generally I am most interested in photography, art and music and nature.

    Vienna waits for you!

    GARDEN
I might also need cleaning up the garden and preparing vegetable patches and flower beds and such.
Creative people welcome! But experience is needed, then ;-)

    CLEANING AND ORGANIZING
The space is used privately but also public, hosting seminars, clients, home concerts, etc
To keep these areas and the kitchen & bathroom clean and tidy at all times is essential, plus shopping the needed items for cooking for my dad and running errands for him or me.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You get your own room / double room . Two bathrooms, both shared: either with me/roommates or wih the guests.
Zoom/Whatsapp Viewing anytime if we make contact

We have a spacious kitchen and with guests it is easy going - if someone cooks what the other likes, too, we share and if we have different tastes and habits, we cook separately. Timetables need to be adapted around the seminars, but thats easy because my dad also has a fully functional kitchen.

Public transport: Tram #26, which joins 3 tube-lines. Vienna is a great place to get around on public transport. Alternatively you can first fix (ooops) and then ride my bike. Private parking lot is available for you.
