Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The owners (Lingge and Jet) are a couple who have lived in Shanghai, London, and Tokyo, and can communicate fluently in Chinese and English. If you're interested in learning Chinese or Japanese, we're happy to share our language learning experiences and tips.
If you're considering starting a business or purchasing property in Japan, we'd also love to share our journey of starting a hotel from scratch, including the challenges we've faced along the way.
Lingge studied directing at film school and has years of teaching experience in filmmaking and film history. If you're a film enthusiast, you'll find plenty to discuss! Jet has a strong social science background and has been working in consulting businesses. He is also a sake lover with extensive knowledge of local Izu alcohol drinks and enjoys studying Japanese history. They also host a Mandarin podcast!
During your stay, you'll have the opportunity to participate in cultural exchanges through daily conversations, shared meals, and special events they occasionally organize for staff and guests.Host offers payment in line with the minimum wage

Overall this is a very nice living and working environment in Izu, it is surrounded by nature, sea, little birds, with just great amount of commerce. The convenient stores and restaurants are all close to the hotel, you can enjoy great sushi and various convenient store meals just by walking :)Languages

Ito is a city best navigated by car. While public transportation options like buses and trains are available, driving remains the most convenient way to get around. We welcome workawayers who have international driving licenses, though this is not a mandatory requirement for working with us.
