Description
Hi, Workawayers! My name is Marina and my nickname in rural Montenegro is Mare. I have always been living in cities (Osijek, Belgrade, Malmö) but my heart is really always with my grandpa's land and our old house in Gornji Brceli. Spending summers here is like living in a fairytale together with dragonflies, legless lizards, and falcons, eating nothing but grapes, figs, and mulberries. Nevertheless, irl the region is known for its vine Vranac, a red grape variety that originates from here. Like every other house, we have a vineyard too, and some grapes are old over 70 years. We still do produce our own vine and rakija loza (grappa). But it is getting more and more difficult to take care of this job. My uncles are only getting older, and my cousins are not interested in keeping the tradition. Now I am on a quest to save the vineyard and I need help with various jobs. One of our first tasks would be to build the camp in vinyard for workawayers. I have a nice big scout tent and we need to make an improv kitchen and toilet. Until this is done, we will use my family's old house. Once we have a camp, we can start working around vines, trimming grass, and building dry stonewalls with the help of elderly local experts!

A little more information
Internet access
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
Can host digital nomads
In general, I would love to host digital nomads, I myself worked as one for many years. However, we need to build the camp first, so there will be no fancy desk and chair, but if you have carpentry skills, you are welcome to create some kind of DIY working station for digital nomads. I would provide materials and tools, and help with design. I would also be happy to learn a bit about carpentry jobs. I do not provide internet (I use my phone as a hotspot and I can suggest a good provider).
Can possibly accept pets
I could accept workawayers with a dog, but we need to discuss it first...
How many Workawayers can stay?

Marina was really understanding, kind and flexible with us from the first moment we met.
She welcomed us (the two of us and Victoria, another volunteer) with a big smile and took us to a religious event in the village that was happening on that day. So right away we were integrated into… read more
