Description
I'm Anna and in the last 2 years I've been building a small off-grid living space in the mountains and forest of Northern Hungary. I live on 2 hectares of forested land, surrounded by an untouched national park forest. It's a hiker's paradise, and the river Danube is only 10 km away, with many beaches for bathing during the summer, kayaking etc.
I have several wooden caravans ("gipsy wagon", "circus wagon") and volunteers will stay in one of them. My personal mission is to live in harmony with nature as much as possible and to live an authentic and deeply fulfilling life.
I have a veggie garden and a few chickens as well.
I am 38, from Hungary, lived in the UK and travelled around Europe, India, the US.
I studied social anthropology, and have been on a deep inner journey most of my life, so I have a lot of experience with self-awareness, trauma-healing, therapies etc - super happy to share my knowledge of these tools. I love dancing, I do yoga every day, and I love building things with my own hands.Types of help and learning opportunities

Interested in practicing Spanish, happy to help you practice English (or Hungarian :)Accommodation
In a cute wooden caravan / tiny home on wheels. It has a gas stove, washing sink, drinking water dispenser, composting toilet, and even a small shower corner, although that is more comfortable outdoors during the summer. (Also has wood stove with CO-alarm for colder weather).
1 caravan has one pull-out couch for one person or a couple.
The other guest caravan has two separate sleeping cabins (separated by the kitchen / entry / common area) with 2 + 2 beds, I think it's comfortable for 3 people max.
I provide ingredients for 3 vegetarian meals per day, and there's a gas cooking stove in each caravan where volunteers can prepare their own food. I will also cook some days. What else ...
The place is pretty much in the middle of the forest plus some fields, it's a hikers' paradise with many official hiking routes so you can explore the moutains etc. The river Danube is only 10 km away, with lots of varied beaches, some big and fun and busy with bars and music, and some hidden and quiet. There are a lot of musical events in the larger area during the summer, and also a lot of alternative and like-minded people live around here so there are quite a few alternative bars. However these are 10km away so it's more comfortable to attend these by car. There is public transport but it's a bit scarce.
From Budapest, the village is about 1hr 10mins by bus and train, and then a 20min walk from the bus stop. Happy to meet you in the bus stop. :)A little more information
Internet access
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
Can host digital nomads
This depends on your job. I have mobile internet which I can share. I'm a freelance translator and it's enough for downloading & uploading documents, using online dictionaries etc. I also regularly do 1hour video calls in medium quality. If you need more intense internet than this, unfortunately it won't be enough.
Space for parking camper vans
We can find space for a van or small caravan.
Can possibly accept pets
There are no fences around the property, and neither around the veggie garden. Dogs are welcome (max 2 at a time) but must be well behaved to respect the garden and the chickens. Cats are more than welcome :))
How many Workawayers can stay?
More than two

I came with one other volonteer on a rainy and muddy day. Anna made her best to welcome us with a meal and extra blankets for the night.
The place is peaceful and beautiful. I experienced freedom there. You can do some walks or visits whenever you want… read more
