    Description

I have been passionate about animals for as long as I can remember, and they have always been a very important part of my life. Over the years, I have rescued countless dogs, given a home to more than a dozen of them, and tried to help as many animals as I could along the way. Many of my dogs stayed with me for years and eventually passed away from old age, which is always difficult, but I feel fortunate to have been able to give them a safe and loving home. I have been living in Thailand for many years now, where I have been actively involved in animal rescue for over a decade. It has become much more than just something I do; it is a way of life that has taught me a lot about patience, compassion, and the importance of caring for those who depend on us. I currently share my home with a small pack of lovely dogs, some of whom are getting quite old, and they are very much part of my family. I live in a peaceful, natural setting on Koh Chang, surrounded by greenery and close to the jungle, where I enjoy a relatively simple life and being close to nature. Through Workaway, I am happy to welcome people who enjoy animals and would like to experience a different way of life in Thailand. When I need to travel, finding kind, reliable people who genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs is a wonderful way for me to make sure my companions remain happy and comfortable in their own home.

Living here gives you the chance to experience island life in a very natural way. Koh Chang has beautiful beaches, jungle and nature, a relaxed village atmosphere, and many friendly local and international communities. There are also lots of opportunities to meet people through sports, outdoor activities and the many dog lovers on the island. It’s a great place to slow down, enjoy nature and experience a different side of Thailand.

The main thing is simply to take care of my 4 dogs while I’m away. You will prepare their food and feed them, spend some time with them, and take them for walks a few times a day. They have a huge natural space around the house, so there is no need for leashes. Mostly, it’s about keeping them company, giving them some attention and making sure they are happy and well looked after.

The house is one of the last houses before the National Park, surrounded by nature, jungle and almost unlimited space. It’s about 5 minutes by motorbike to the beach and 3 minutes to restaurants. The road is a little rough, so you should be confident and experienced riding a motorbike. The house has air conditioning and is fully equipped for cooking. I also provide a motorbike for your stay (no car). You’ll enjoy a peaceful jungle setting, and sometimes even have hornbills visiting near the house.

    Seven

    Seven is 16 years old.

Seven is the symbol of happiness. She never fights, never barks but she likes to wander around. Her free spirit makes her a bit more demanding than other dogs in terms of freedom but she never goes far. She sticks around. At night she’s often in demand of petting and she’ll give you her paw which means she’d like to receive some affection.

    Martin

    Martin is 11 years old

    Dam Dam

Dam Dam is 14 years old.

Dam Dam is supposed to be a black middle Spitz as they call it. Dam Dam is the kind of dog that turns back every 10 seconds to check if you’re still around. She’s always been quite insecure which stems from the time she’s been abandoned by various owners who would just close the bar for good and leave her there to fend for herself. She’s become a very homy dog, the easiest of all except for the fact she sheds quite a bit in heat season ;) She’s a pure delight to walk, never goes away, she’s always worried she might lose track of us. She likes to be given attention and cuddles.
