    Description

    Hi!
I am Henrik and i started my dream of running this beautiful, non-profit animal sanctuary in October 2022. I am currently running this project together with my girlfriend.

This project is based in the small village of Varvasaina, Greece near ancient Olympia on this gorgeous 3 acres property.

The Idea behind this venture is to create a safe space for negleted and /or abused animals and have them live the rest of their life loved and in dignity. We are at the very start of this project, so there is a lot of room DIY projects and repairs. While i do not have a workshop at the moment we are good connected and are able to provide materials for most projects, such as woodworking, gardening etc. As this project needs to be financed and we just rarely get donations, we often have to work a lot of time, so travellers are expected to be able to work independently and without much supervision. Every guest is happily invited to contribute their skill to this project, to make this place grow and flourish.

    Currently we need help with:
    - Animal care (21 dogs, 2 horses and 4 pigs and a cat)
→ this is the big one. Keep in mind that most of the animals here were severely abused or neglected and need special kind of attention.

    - social media content creation (very important!)
    - Gardening / weeding
    - fencing
    - building a new storage area
    - fixing the pig pen
    - etc...

This is not my job but my life, so i am really passionate about this project. I want to create a loving and thriving community, so i will not tolerate any racist / sexist behaviour, but otherwise everybody is more than welcome to join me on my journey.

Here you can experience and enjoy country and village life of West Peloponnese.

Varvasaina is a small village near the City of Pyrgos. In the immediate area you wil find beaches, mountains for long hikes and even historical places like ancient olympia. We are widely connected to the local animal welfare scene, even more oppertunitys to make friends for life !

For this year i do not have any type of guest house . I can provide a safe, fenced in area for your camper to stay and running water and electricity . You can also stay in our camper!

    We offer unlimited Wi-Fi.

You have to feel comfortable around dogs. While thankfully none of our animals are overly aggressive you should not be intimitated by some barking :)

    What else ...

It would be great if you could stay for about 2 weeks, longer stays will be discussed during the stay.

Please let me know beforehand what kind of work you imagine for your stay so we try to organize necessary equipment and materials.

I provide vegan food -at least breakfast + one cooked meal per day. Also there is a small kitchen in the camper.

In order to get around places you can borrow the car.

To get here from bigger cities and back you have to take a public bus to Pyrgos, the bus company is called KTEL.
