    Description

I as a host run a homestay in Calangute Goa, India, The beach is a minute walk away from the home and we promote Ayurvedic medicine and yoga and meditation and also if one is interested in knowing how to prepare the Goan fish curry and the rechedo masala a Indo -Portuguese blend for Fish and the famous Goan Xacuti Masala and if lucky the Butter chicken masala they can do so on their sole choice, We do not ask our workaways to serve our guest neither food or drinks . Workaways get to participate in our programs and share in their travel experiences. And if anyone not interested in to participate in the programs one can simply chill and be free. Our village is a traditionally a fishing village and workaways get to interact and learn about our culture and participate in celebrating our festivals etc., and to get to Calangute from airport there is a airport shuttle bus or you can share a pre-paid taxi going to Calangute with other co-passengers. From railway station, you will have to come to Margoa bus stand and then take a bus to Panaji and from Panaji to Calangute, and if you arrive in Thivim railway station then take a bus to Mapusa bus stand and then a bus to Calangute,(shared taxis at all station) and in Calangute I meet you or google NV beach road and we are situated third on that lane.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Goa culture and cuisine .Cultural and Religious Harmony While famous for its Portuguese architecture and beautiful churches, Goa is predominantly a Hindu-majority state (approx. 65%), alongside a substantial Christian population (25%) and Muslim communities (8%).Shared Celebrations: Communities frequently celebrate each other's festivals. You will see Hindus participating in Christian feasts and Catholics taking part in temple festivities, such as the unique devotion shared at the Damodar Temple. Historical Blend: The Portuguese colonial history heavily influences the lifestyle. Wander through the distinct Latin Quarter of Fontainhas in Panaji to see pastel-colored houses with azulejo tiles next to ancient Hindu temples and UNESCO-recognized convents in Old Goa.
