I am edgar, a peruvian native, originally from the colca canyon. I live with my mama and sister and I study education at the unversity of Arequipa.
I run a club at my university for students that wish to practice their English skills. This is a volunteer programme and we are looking for English speakers to practice with the students in an informal setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for inquisitive souls that wish to learn more about all aspects of peruvian culture.
You will learn just as much from the members of the english club, as they hopefully will by practicing with you!

In my spare time, I am an experienced guide and I would like to help you with information and possibly a tour to the magnificent Colca Canyon, the numerous volcanoes that surround Arequipa, and others touristic places in Arequipa or Peru.
I am a native speaker of Quechua and Spanish and would love to help you learn either language by providing informal practice.
I am a student of education that is currently training to become a language teacher. I run a club for adult students that want to learn english at the university. I require people that speak english to a good level, regardless of nationality, to practice english with my students.
As the help only involves speaking practice and no formal teaching, no teaching experience is necessary.
The English Club runs from Monday to Friday, so you will have lots of time free to explore the city and practice your Spanish.
We have a minimum stay of just one week and my club is always in need of extra help. Please contact me if you have any questions about the working arrangements.

I can offer you your own private room at my house. I am willing to provide two delicious home-cooked peruvian meals a day.
I live in the beautiful and safe suburb of Cayma, which overlooks the picturesque city of Arequipa. The centre can be reached in just 15 minutes by bus and there are many local amenities including shops, a fresh-produce market and bars and restaurants.
You will have a lot of free time and you can spend your days off exploring the cobbled streets of the city and its numerous museums, restaurants, bars and historical sites. The beach is only a 2 hour bus ride away and the Colca Canyon is within easy reach. We are close to a salt-flat, the inca trail and some excellent Inca Petroglyphs.
I am happy to help you with any questions you have and will be able to assist you in planning the travel to the rest of Peru - including the secret free trail to Machu Picchu!
