Description
We are a Salsa School that unites social dancing with the vibrant culture of Cali, Colombia and was formed with the goal of incorporating the joys of Cali dance and culture.
In Cali and at our salsa school, you will learn about the history of salsa, the social dance clubs, unique food, art and tourist attractions that make our city one of the jewels of Colombia.
Cali, today is considered the Salsa Capital of the World and if you come to volunteer with us, you will find out why?
In the area you can find breakfasts for 3 dollars, lunches for 4 dollars and dinners for 7 dollars, but if you cook in our home-school, you could save up to 30% on food. On average, you could spend about $210 per month on food.
Our personalized classes are led by qualified professional dance teachers. Your classes can start from your first day at the school and are given to you on the condition that you fulfill several roles within the school, among them:
1. Assistance in the dance classes.
2. Support in the office
3. Marketing and social media (photos, video editing, Facebook,Instagram,Youtube, TikTok).
4. Cleaning activities when required by the salsa school, always in your volunteer time.
In our salsa school we have the presence of 3 beautiful cats and 3 beautiful dogs. We may ask for support to walk the dogs at any given time.
We can have a maximum of two volunteers and we are looking for at least one of the two volunteers to be in charge of editing and recording our videos.
WE ACCEPT VOLUNTEERS WHO CAN STAY AT LEAST 9 WEEKS OR MORE AND WITH AN INTERMEDIATE LEVEL OF SPANISH.
WORKAWAYERS WHO STAY AT LEAST THREE MONTHS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO A PERFORMANCE WITH ONE OF OUR TEACHERS, DOING A SALSA SHOW IN ONE OF THE MOST EMBLEMATIC CLUBS IN THE CITY. YOU WILL BE THE STAR OF THE NIGHT.
Volunteering at our salsa school does not include food, however there are a variety of stores and supermarkets at very good prices and obviously you will have full access to our fully equipped kitchen.
We promote a universal language through dance, rhythm and technique, generating freedom, inspiration and joy. Our approach is aimed at people who like to dance for fun and whose motivation is to improve their skills and perform at their best in the world of social dance. We are looking for people who want to transform their lives through dance and this is a great opportunity.
We are located in the San Cayetano neighborhood, a touristy, bohemian and lively neighborhood of Cali, 5 minutes walk from downtown. San Cayetano is surrounded by many stores, restaurants, handicrafts, parks, hostels and important nightclubs, where you can put into practice everything you learn in our salsa school. Our school also makes periodically a salsa tour, by the most emblematic places of salsa, in order to know why we are the world capital of salsa and our volunteers will be welcome.
In our house-school we have an adjoining laundry room (the laundry area is free for volunteers) are all social areas used by our students and guests of the house.

Help
Volunteering and Dance
(Female or male; with experience in marketing, social media, editing videos, Facebook,Instagram and Youtube . Attending students and willing to take different tasks depends on the needs of the service (helping assisting salsa classes, receptionist, office work).
Dancing and living in Cali while volunteering for a Professional Dance School.
If you have the following characteristics you should contact us....
1 A love for dancing and/or motivation to learn.
2 The ability to be active for long periods and a can-do attitude with the ability to work in various capacities.
3 The time to commit for 3 months to improve your dance level, your Spanish and help others under the watchful eye of our dance teachers.
What you will receive...
1 Private classes with a 15% with a 40% or 60% discount.
2 Free accommodation in a dormitory during your stay at the school (two people in a very spacious room).
3 An environment to practice and improve your dance skills in multiple styles and immerse yourself in the diverse culture of Cali.
4. The possibility of doing your own performance, which consists of doing your own dance show, with costumes and make-up included. A magical experience for all our volunteers.
*On the condition that you complete various roles within the school including:
1. working primarily in social media,editing videos, photos, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Tiktok and Marketing.
2. Support in the office.
3. Attending private salsa classes.

What else ...
In Cali you will find that most use taxis, uber or the bus service, MIO, to get around. Cali is Salsa and with that comes a plethora of dance clubs and historical places that spawned the caleñan style. There are also many zones close to claim (the pacific sea, Pance river, Cristo Rey, Tres cruces mountain,the coffee zone from where the coffee is exported throughout the country). It is possible that the school can give you more private hours of salsa and groups hours if the voluntary can work more to the school

Son tres perros adoptados de la calle que no tenían hogar y en nuestra escuela de salsa decidimos adoptar. They are three super friendly little dogs, who were homeless on the street and that in our salsa school, we decided to adopt.
