Description
Our farm is in the beautiful Westfjords, between the mountains and a white sand beach— the view is breathtaking in every direction.
Life here is peaceful but full of energy — kids playing, animals everywhere, laughter, and family chaos.
We’re a close and friendly family, who loves sharing our everyday life with others. Depending on the season and what’s going on at the farm, there may be more or fewer, family members and working people living and working at the Farm. The kids are 3 and on the farm we have cows, horses, sheep, dogs, and cats — plus some modern helpers like our milking robots (and even one for the… less glamorous jobs!). There’s always something going on, whether it’s fun with the kids and animals, stuff around the house, or joining us for coffee and stories after a long day.
What makes this place special is the feeling of togetherness. We often have family and friends visiting, so there’s always life around — but also quiet moments where you can enjoy the fresh air, the sea, and the calm of nature.
If you love kids, animals, fresh air, and being part of a real Icelandic family, you’ll fit right in here. You’ll leave with, happy memories, and probably a few new Icelandic words!
Depending on availability, we can also offer you a short stay in Reykjavík before or after your time on the farm. It’s a great chance to see the most popular Icelandic sights — and we’ll help you find your way up to the Westfjords too!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You’ll experience real Icelandic family life — not the tourist version! You’ll learn about modern farming with milking robots, how to love horses and other animals, and how Icelanders survive long winters with humor and coffee.
You’ll pick up bits of Icelandic language, discover local traditions, and taste homemade food straight from the farm. You’ll also learn how teamwork, laughter, and a icelandic chaos make everything work.
In return, we’d love to learn about your culture — your favorite dishes, music, and stories. By the time you leave, you won’t just have learned new skills… you’ll have a whole new Icelandic family.

Help
We always appreciate an extra pair of hands in our life. Depending on the season, there’s a nice mix of small tasks, mostly helping around the house, like cooking, light cleaning. Also spending some time with the kids/animals — playing with them and being a friendly extra person in their day. Additionally we would be happy to get some help with projects in the garden in spring, maintainance or other simple task at home. We also would love learn more english and get some IT help when needed.
Some days are calm and others more lively, but it’s all part of living close to nature. What matters most is that you enjoy nature, like being active, and feel comfortable joining our family rhythm.
You’ll spend plenty of time outside enjoying the fresh Icelandic air, the mountains, the beach, and of course… the famous Icelandic wind :)
As mentioned earlier, most of the hands-on work with farm animals is done by a locally paid helper.

Accommodation
You’ll have your own comfy room in our family home, with amazing views. We share the kitchen, living room, and meals together — it’s a real family atmosphere— it’s warm, cozy, and full of life (sometimes even a cat on your lap or a dog under the table).
There’s Wi-Fi, laundry, and endless coffee. It’s not fancy, but it’s real Icelandic comfort — peaceful, a bit messy, and always full of good energy.
There’s always food in the house: bread, veggies, pasta, meat, dairy, snacks… basically enough so you never have to hunt your own dinner in the Icelandic wilderness. If you have special dietary needs, just let us know — we’re flexible, but we can’t promise gluten-free trolls or vegan elves.
Family meals are usually in the evenings, when everyone sits down together after the day’s chaos. For lunch, we normally eat leftovers — if there are any leftovers (farm work makes people hungry!). Please keep in mind that this is a farm, and there aren’t many opportunities to buy special dietary items nearby.
