Description
My name is Petra. Together with my husband Honza we live in a small village Nahoruby situated in a beautiful hilly countryside close to the river VItava, some 60 km south from Prague. We are 44 years old. We live in an old stone house (part of a family farm, my parents live in a house next to us). We have a big garden with a lot of vegetables and fruits. It is a permaculture style garden, I am very fond of it and always try to make it more fertile and productive. I grow my own seeds and select resistent varieties. I have some knowledge and recettes of conserving what the garden gives. We eat vegetarian. Honza likes to play airsoft, bass guitar, to drive an old military truck (see photos) that we reconstructed. Me, apart of gardening I am fond of foreign languages, swimming (great to be warm in a wetsuit out of turistic season), some art, travelling (more in the past, nowadays I only go to a sea and I love it). I like to read. We both like hiking, making fire, music, fun, good time with friends, relax in nature, spirituality. We have two little dogs. We spend quite a lot of time working on maintenance of our land - cleaning forests, fighting brumble and nettles, making firewood, cutting grass, planting trees... , and reconstructing or building something...
Together we reconstructed an old military campervan/trailer that we have in a valley on a meadow by a stream among forests some 2 km far from the village. We feel very lucky to have that piece of land and we spend quite a lot of time there. Last year we reconstructed another similar campervan, this one including a legendary Praga v3s truck about 50 years old, in aim to have an extra accommodation for guests (and fun;).
There are many dry pine trees in our forest, so we have a lot of wood for making fire.
Food we make is rather simple, but tasty, lot of fresh or conserved vegetables and fruits from own garden - depending on a season.
Your stay would be between the village and the valley 2km far. Variable depending on the situation and tasks. Can be discussed and precised.
We prefere workawayers who are ok with being on their own, sometimes we like company and would do things together but sometimes we like to be alone so it's good if you can also plan your free time independently, it's a quiet place here with a lot of nature, behind a hill 4km is a summer resort.
We provide 3 meals a day. Lunch we would have together, breakfast everyone on his own, dinner depending on a situation if we spend evening together or not, if not, we provide you with food you can cook with or bread, cheese or leftovers from lunch. We don't buy meat.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Possibility to learn something from permaculture gardening, seeds growing, conserving/storing fruits and vegetables, making fruit wine, to exchange travel/cultural/life experiences, to practise languages. There is a female Trappist monastery nearby, liturgy partly sung in latin. Sometimes in summer we visit alternative music festivals so you could join us. Possibly friends come for visit.
Help
We need help with work in a forest - mostly bringing logs of wood out to paths where it can be loaded on a trailer.
We plan to build a wooden insulated cabin with a terrace so we would appreciate help with preparing space, digging holes for poles, building itself. Also building outside separation toilet. It would be great if you have experience with similar building and woodworking tasks as we just learn it ourselves.
Probable some raking cut grass, weeding, moving compost, painting long wooden fence, picking fruits...
On rainy days possible some house reconstruction work, grinding rusty metal door frames and painting them, whitening cellar, stacking wood..
Most of the work we request is physically demanding. We need tasks to get finished. We prefere workawayers who have experience with work similar to what we request.Languages

Accomodation will be possible in our newly reconstructed military truck (pull out bed, gas heating (to be used with moderation)). It can be parked on a meadow where we plan to build the cabin, it's next to our house, at the end of the village. Or it can be parked in the valley 2km far where we have our other campervan, in the middle of nature. There is a camping style equipment for cooking on fire or gas, washing dishes, storing food.. as we use it ourselves. There is a stream, camping shower, spring of drinking water nearby. There you can make a camp fire every day.
In summer possible accomodation in a small wooden cabin in our garden with a single bed and a table.
Solar shower in the garden.
Possible occasional shower, washing machine, wi-fi use at our home. What else ...
You can have a bike in disposition. Possible to go swimming in the river Vltava - lake Slapy 4km. Transport to/from Prague by public transp.1,5h. There are some nice view points over rivers nearby. In Nahoruby live my friends, they have 2 sons, they are great people, possibly we could meet together, possibly I could ask you to help in their garden some day. Our recreation/camping place is great for relax with a book and drink in a nice shadow under tree or sun listening water flow birds sing.
