Details
 - Description- Hej! We're Seb and Alex: a 30-something couple originally from South Africa, now living in small-town Sweden with our very adorable Finnish Lapphund, Sanna, and our baby daughter. We're based just outside the town of Älmhult, where we both work for IKEA .
Over December and the first half of January, we’ll be doing some travelling and need someone to look after Sanna while we’re away. Could it be you? We’re looking for someone reliable and trustworthy with pet sitting experience, who loves dogs and enjoys quiet life in the countryside.
Our home is a lovely little 90m2 villa from the 1930s. It is on a road connecting two small towns and is surrounded by beautiful forest, with Möckeln lake a 15 minute walk away. Connected by somewhat regular buses to Älmhult, but your own drivers license will be ideal.
Get in touch if you would like more information!
 - Types of help and learning opportunities- Animal Care - House sitting
 - Cultural exchange and learning opportunities- We count ourselves very lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world, with an abundance of nature right on our doorstep. We try to enjoy the best of Swedish life in every season: from long walks in spring, to kayaking in nearby Möckeln lake during summer, foraging for mushrooms in the autumn and enjoying cosy moments in the long, dark Swedish winter.
 - Help- Look after Sanna while we’re away. She’s a pretty easy going pooch, but we’ll be happy to discuss her needs in more detail if you’re interested.
 - Languages spoken- English: Fluent
 Swedish: Intermediate
 German: Beginner
 - Accommodation- You'll be living in our two-bedroom, one-bathroom villa with your own room. The house is well heated and comfortable, with everything you need! There is a fenced off yard where Sanna likes to play and lots of beautiful nature in the area.
 - What else ...- There are at least 5 marked walking trails in the nearby vicinity, including Taxås, Höö and Linnés Råshult. In summer (June-August) it's also great to take a dip at any of the nearby lakes.
We have a car that you are welcome to use if we're not using it and you have a license. Otherwise, there is a bus stop about 200m from our front door, with +- hourly buses into Älmhult during weekdays.
In Älmhult you'll find the IKEA Museum (well worth a visit!) as well as a few restaurants and shops.
In Älmhult you also have hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Copenhagen, if you're in need of some bigger city life :)
Stockholm is about a 3.5 hour train ride away.
 - A little more information - Internet access
 - Limited internet access

 - How many Workawayers can stay?- Two
