Description
UPDATE. I have a broken leg now. Your tasks and our plans to take shorter and longer trips will be adjusted accordingly.

We are an elderly couple and during summers live in the middle of Sweden on a picturesque island. We need help with gardening and such. You will get meals, separate room with all the amenities, bike to ride and lots of options to explore local lakes, forests and towns. You can use your free time as you wish or join us for shorter or longer trips in Sweden or abroad (depending on our plans at that time).
We do not have animals, but if you have a cat or a dog, then they are welcome.
We focus on sustainability, ecology. and want to create a mini collective of like minded people.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We live in a very culturally rich place. In summer time there are many cultural events, where you can get to see and experience local folk traditions, there are mountains for hiking, lakes for fishing and swimming, forests for mushroom and berry picking. We will cook for you and have meals together, but you are also free to have meals on your own ( you’ll have access to the fridge and pantry) and use your free time exploring the surroundings or resting . We have 2 bikes available for you. We are always open to other cultures and are eager to travel. You can also join us on our shorter trips in Northern Europe. We hope for mutual learning process and understanding.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
We have recently bought this property and will need the help like planting bushes, fruit trees, etc. , planning a vegetable garden. We welcome all ideas about permaculture and landscape design. You should be able to complete the given tasks independently.

From the moment I arrived on Sollerön we got along. They were easy going, understanding and caring.
While the work was physically demanding it felt rewarding, mentally and in terms of some of the best dishes I could've asked for after a day of digging in the garden.
