    Cultural Exchange Opportunity

We are a group of friends who decided three years ago to restore a beautiful old village/motel in Jindabyne. We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food.

We have hosted people from all around the world, including all over Europe, Asia, North and South America.

The motel is a 5-minute drive from local amenities such as supermarkets, shops, pubs, and a skate park.

From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. In summer, there are plenty of hikes, mountain biking, fishing, as well as the beach at Jindabyne Lake, Blue Lake and we are 30 minutes from the tallest mountain in Australia- Mount Koscioscko.
Yarrangobilly Caves and nearby thermal pools are about one hour away.

Our beautiful site features a serene river, where you can spot platypuses, kangaroos, wallabies, and wombats.

As part of our cultural exchange, we invite you to lend a hand with some exciting projects! Whether you have skills in cabinet making, shelving, wood chopping, painting. tiling, flooring, any handyman/building skills are welcome :)

To make it easier to explore our stunning surroundings, we have a car available for use (with an international license required!).

We pay standard wages in Australia.

We look forward to hearing from you!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

It really depends on the person who comes and what they want to achieve and what they want to get out of it. We have had many people who stay and benefit immensely. Most improve their english, enjoy interacting with the people and animals amongst a beautiful setting in nature and have a lot of sightseeing opportunities during their time off. That said, there must be a willingness to learn, we also do expect a high level of skill from the person/people applying as we are a business and need to meet standards.

Our knowledge base is mainly in business, we have some knowledge of handyman and building work.
