Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will have the opportunity to experience authentic Kenyan culture beyond your daily volunteer activities. We warmly invite volunteers to participate in community celebrations, cultural ceremonies, special events, school functions, and local gatherings whenever possible.
These experiences offer a unique chance to connect with local people, learn about traditions, share cultures, and create lasting memories. Whether attending a school celebration, community event, sports activity, or cultural occasion, you will be welcomed as part of our extended family.
We believe that cultural exchange is one of the most rewarding parts of volunteering. Through these interactions, volunteers gain a deeper understanding of Kenyan life while sharing their own experiences and traditions with the community.
To recognize your contribution and commitment, volunteers receive a Certificate of Participation and Appreciation highlighting their involvement and service. This serves as a meaningful reminder of the impact you have made and the connections you have built during your stay.
We look forward to sharing our culture, traditions, and community spirit with you.

Help
We warmly welcome both short-term and long-term volunteers to join in supporting our mission of education, care, and community development in Nyamira, Kenya.
We offer a wide range of meaningful volunteer roles across education, community support, administration, and fundraising. Volunteers may serve as teachers, tutors, mentors, coaches, healthcare supporters, builders, or assistants depending on their skills and interests.
Volunteers play an important role in helping us grow and strengthen our programs. This includes supporting school activities, organizing events, participating in fundraising efforts, developing learning resources, assisting with administration, and contributing to leadership and community guidance.
Beyond school-based activities, volunteers also take part in caring for and supporting vulnerable children and families. This may include helping with daily care, education support, feeding programs, and general well-being activities. Volunteers also contribute to art projects, farming activities, community outreach, and other hands-on initiatives that bring positive change.
We value creativity, flexibility, and passion. Volunteers are encouraged to use their individual skills in meaningful ways, whether through teaching, storytelling, media and documentation, proposal writing, cooking, or other talents they wish to share.
Volunteers are expected to dedicate approximately five hours per day to community service. Each day offers opportunities to learn, contribute, and connect deeply with the local community while making a real and lasting impact.
Eery volunteer becomes part of a shared mission to uplift children, strengthen families, and build a brighter future together.

Accommodation
Volunteers stay at the welcoming homestead of the Executive Director, offering a unique opportunity to experience authentic Kenyan family and community life. We aim to provide a comfortable, safe, and friendly environment where volunteers can feel at home throughout their stay.
Accommodation is provided in spacious rooms equipped with comfortable beds and mosquito nets to ensure a restful night's sleep. Volunteers have access to hot showers and modern flush toilets, providing comfort and convenience during their stay.
One of the highlights of volunteering with us is enjoying a variety of delicious home-cooked meals. You will have the opportunity to experience traditional Kenyan cuisine and learn about local food culture. Meals are freshly prepared and shared in a warm family atmosphere.
If you have any dietary requirements, allergies, or special food preferences, please let us know in advance. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and ensure you enjoy your meals during your stay.
We hope your time with us will feel less like staying in a volunteer house and more like becoming part of a Kenyan family.
What else ...
We encourage volunteers to tell us about their skills, interests, experiences, and how long they would like to stay with us when creating their profiles. This helps us match volunteers with activities where they can make the greatest impact while enjoying a rewarding and meaningful experience.
We believe that every volunteer has something valuable to share. Whether your strengths are in teaching, sports, arts, healthcare, photography, farming, construction, administration, fundraising, media, or community development, we will do our best to create opportunities for you to use your talents in ways that benefit both you and the community.
Beyond volunteering, Kenya offers countless opportunities for adventure, exploration, and cultural discovery. During your free time, you can experience the beauty and diversity of one of Africa's most fascinating destinations.
Volunteers can learn basic Swahili, Kenya's national language, and immerse themselves in local traditions, customs, music, food, and daily life. This cultural exchange is often one of the most memorable parts of the volunteer experience.
You may also choose to visit some of Kenya's famous attractions, including:
The world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve
Kenya's beautiful coastal beaches and the Indian Ocean

National parks and wildlife reserves
Tea farms and scenic countryside landscapes
