Jake gets a bonus star in the skills department. We have greatly enjoyed having him here helping on the farm this past month. He has been incredibly hard working and has been a great asset. He made cedar split rails, chopped loads of firewood, spread clay to seal the pond, cared for the animals while we went away, and also he has built us a

Wow! Georgia and Jasper were an absolute gift to us this Summer. We had the pleasure of hosting them for the last 7 weeks.

Denman was a cool place to explore on our afternoons and weekends off. We were introduced to others living on the island which was a cool experience to see how everyone is existing in this place!
We were lucky enough to be there whilst Peter’s parents Bob and Priscilla were also there. We loved the family / community feel of the place and were always engaged in interesting chats with the whole family , and of course Florence! Also if you love doggos then this place is great, Alba, Sylvio and Louis all have a special place in our hearts
Thank you for hosting us, we had an amazing summer here and would definitely recommend if you’re looking to experience life on Denman :)

Luis and Julia were an absolute joy to host. They were very hard workers and were able to take on any project we had for them. They were independent, consistent, contentious, and communicated well.
Some projects they helped us with were weeding, planting trees, chopping firewood, stacking firewood (our sheds are beautifully organized and full for

We only wish they could have stayed longer!
Thank you both for your generous contribution of time and energy to our project.

We stayed two weeks with Jill & Peter and time has flown by quickly. Their farm is a beautiful and very peaceful place.
Both are very caring and let us decide what kind of work we wanted to do. Every workday they made us lunch and it was always very delicious.
The three dogs are the sweetest and we really are going to miss them.
On the weekends

We really enjoyed our stay with you guys and we wish you all the best for your exciting future.

That was our first workaway together and we felt very welcome in Peter and Jill’s farm. There were plenty of little bits of attention that made us feel at ease very quickly. We were having a lot of fun helping out in the different areas. We had to help mainly with the weeding and mulching, and we even had the change to plant some fruit trees in

We had plenty of time to discover the rest of the Island and there is a little pathway that leads to a lovely free store. As a dog lover you’ll be served, they have two big doggies and a special puddle: his name is Luis (ask Jill about him). We had our best time during Jill’s baby shower and we had the chance to meet her friends and her mom. We even stayed at her place in Nanaimo some days later. Thanks again for those 10 great days on Denman! It’s worth a detour!Left by host for Workawayer (Lisa)
