We are excited to share all we know (and don't know) about our organic regenerative production system of growing many varieties of veggies, so you will learn more about how to grow what and when. Byron is known for it's diversity and on the farm there is always a mix of different people that will be happy to assist and share - we have no agenda, only the will to live off the land and grow nutritious food that also feeds the earth. Being so close to Byron and many other beautiful places in the area, you can never get bored here!
Byron is 10 minutes away, Mullumbimby is 10 minutes away, Gold Coast is 50 mins away. Our farm is close to many beaches and all of the local attractions and hotspots.

Volunteering help is on our farm can be related to bushfire recovery work in a bushfire-affected area.

Being a small scale Certified Organic farm, we do most tasks by hand. You will help us with soil bed preparation, planting , weeding and harvesting.
We sell produce at local farmers markets only. Our team is small (up to 6 people including helpers) and the sales horizon is to stay local so it is a very small business, if at all...

The farm tasks are mostly out in the elements so some physical endurance is a must - we're not looking for top athletes but if you have physical issues such as sensitive back or knees, this won't suit you.
We have a clear preference for long stays with an official minimum of 4 weeks. (This can be flexible according to your previous experience, skills and circumstances.)

The hours (5hrs per day + a morning tea break, 5 days a week) can be flexible with consideration to the season, weather and your needs, if any. Weekends are mostly off, unless (rarely) the weather has changed our week days plans.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Built rooms on a private area of the property. We try to cater for privacy, so there is 1 person per room, or two at most if you have come with a friend. There is one bigger room for couples of any gender. We aim to have males and females in separate rooms but this doesn't always work out. We welcome open honest communication, so if you have any issues with anything, we are always open to talking about it.

Communal well equipped kitchen at your service - we supply vegetarian ingredients including everything you need for you to prepare your own meals. Meat is just fine but you'll need to supply it yourself.
The share house has a washing machine, hot shower & compost toilet.
The volunteers area is seperate to the main house so they are "left alone" to do their own thing. There is no TV and little internet reception, depending on what provider your phone plan is with e.g. Telstra/Optus/Vodaphone. There is some WiFi available at the main house and for short and essential communications only. This can be a cultural experience in itself... Take the opportunity to slow down, look inside, outside and enjoy the ride!

We aim to have 4 helpers, with capacity for 6 helpers at any given time. Booking in advance is important.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Byron bay is 12 minutes drive away, Mullumbimby 10 minutes... closest shops (IGA and more) 7 minutes

Public transport in the Byron shire is not very developed - however there are always people coming in and out the farm so commuting is easy if you plan ahead. Some rides can be arranged, mood depending..

We pick up on arrival to Byron, so don't worry if you don't have a car.

We also have a couple of bicycles you can get on and go places (when they're not broken...)
