*We only accept THREE-WEEKS STAY (19/08-08/09), no shorter stays because we want our son to get used to the person and be comfortable around them.*
Heeeello :) We are a Portuguese/Brazilian couple living in Madeira with a baby boy called Martim (born in July 2023). We have a nice apartment in the center of Machico, with an extra bedroom and bathroom, just a few steps from the beach (5 min walk) and right in front of the bus stop. You can reach everything by foot: supermarkets, pharmacies, post office, parks, restaurants etc. We are very easygoing, respectful, and friendly.
TYPE OF HELP WE NEED:
Ruben is a flight attendant and I (Rita) work from home. Martim's daycare will be closed in August, and we need someone to stay with him while I'm at work. We need a person for three weeks: from 19/08 to 08/09 (his grandmother will be here until the 17th, so we cannot house before that).
We are looking for someone who loves children and who already has experience with one-year-old. Someone who can create new activities for him and entertain Martim while we are busy :-)
You'll look after him: take him for a walk, play with him, feed him, bathe him, and put him to sleep some nights.
SCHEDULE:
We both work in shifts, so instead of 4-5 hours/day and 2 days off, your schedule might be: 6h/day for 3 days and 4 days off, for example. Basically, you will work more hours per day but have more days off because whenever one of us has a day off, you too will have a day off (it won't exceed 25h of work per week). We'll know our work schedule by the end of July and inform the volunteer as soon as possible.
