Description
Welcome to the adventures that life brings you as you travel and explore this beautiful world.
Hi I'm Anna-Marie and my son Bailey is now flatting (you will read about him in many of our reviews). My home is located on Waiheke Island. It is a 35 minutes ferry ride from downtown Auckland and constantly rated one of the most beautiful islands in the world with pristine beaches, stunning bush walks and world famous wineries and restaurants. We are only 5 minute walk from the bus stop, supermarket, cafes etc.
I love friends, cooking good food, wine, movies, good conversations, the beach and connecting with new people. I am working in a Product Manager role for Digital Health and mainly work remotely from home.
We prefer free range produce as able and love cooking a variety of foods including meat dishes and some vegetarian dishes. I hope to make you very welcome whilst working with us to help make our home lovely and being my heroes! The work 15 hours per week and 5 dinners are included which we share preparation of.

Help
I am looking for someone to help with general house maintenance, painting, cleaning and some gardening.
Personality wise I need someone who is proactive, trustworthy, caring and fun. I would prefer hosting people over the age of 25.
You will be made to feel like part of the family but given space needed. I tend to accept people for one to two weeks at a time. It is great if you are a person who wants to enjoy your time in Auckland, go out some evenings and generally explore this beautiful country.

Accommodation
Small caravan with a fridge, cooker , sink and it does have toilet and shower facilities but it's much nicer to use the bathroom in the house.
You're welcome in the house when I'm not working from home and there are lovely decks and gardens to hang out in.
What else ...
Lots of beautiful beaches and regional parks for walks and hikes.
Please note that my home is a 35 minute drive ferry ride from Auckland city and it costs approximately $25 each way (cheaper if you buy a multipass) There are lots of local shops etc but if you like to be in the middle of the city and buzz then you might find it a little quiet with me.

Anna-Marie cancelled our stay only a few days before our arrival because of some personal problems. We were not able to find a new host in that short time. We had to rent a room now, which causes a lot of extra costs for us.

It was amazing to be able to get off the plane and have a family to go to right away. Anna, Matt, and Bailey were all great hosts and turned to even better friends. I stayed with Anna-Marie and Bailey for two weeks and it was a fantastic stay.
The gardening, painting and housekeeping was good work and I was really happy to help.
I enjoyed and appeeciated the trips to Waiheke and Piha really much.

Vadim stayed with me for more than 3 weeks in late June/July. I would thoroughly recommend him as a workawayer to anyone.
The sort of work he did for me was: Wallpapering, some small repair work, painting and a bit of basic cooking.
He is honest, kind, gentle and very thorough in what you ask him to do. I really enjoyed having him stay.

Anna Marie was a lovely host who gave us plenty of space to get on with the tasks she set us. The garden studio was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome to come and go in the house as we needed. A very welcome first experience of workaway and I'm sure we will keep in touch in the future.
