🌿 Welcome to Our Off-Grid Paradise in Central Portugal

    Hi there!
We are a Dutch family living our dream on a beautiful Quinta in Central Portugal. Together with our 3-year-old and our baby, we love welcoming travelers into our lives. Life on the Quinta is always an adventure, and there is always something to do.

We have been living here completely off-grid for almost three years now. Our beautiful Quinta spans 4.5 hectares of land, which means there is always maintenance to be done. Everything here runs on solar power, and our water comes straight from our own well.
If you are interested in sustainable, off-grid living, this is a great place to experience it

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We love sharing our life with you.
You won’t just be a helper you’ll be a part of our daily life and family rhythm.
We are happy to share our knowledge about living completely off-grid, managing solar systems, well water, and maintaining a large piece of land.
We love sitting down together at the dinner table exchanging stories, and getting to know different people.
We are flexible and appreciate open communication. We want to make sure the tasks match your interests and skills so that everyone enjoys the experience

  • Help

    Help

Life on the Quinta is always busy. Depending on the season, you could be helping us with pruning trees, harvesting olives, clearing land (trimming/brush cutting), or helping in our vegetable garden where there is always weeding, planting, and harvesting to do. We also do tasks on creative DIY projects like building a small wooden deck.
We have chickens and two friendly pot-bellied pigs that need daily care and feeding!
We like to adapt the tasks to the season, our current projects, and your personal skills.

Besides the outdoor tasks, we love to share the indoor tasks as well. If you enjoy cooking or hanging out with kids, we can easily mix things up! For example, we might be helping outside while you look after the kids, or we can take turns watching them so everyone gets a chance to help with different projects. The same goes for dinner: we like the idea of alternating cooking duties—we cook one night, you cook the next (if that’s something you enjoy!).

Please note that public transport in our rural area is very limited.
