Description
Our farm is located in the municipality of Mula, within the heart of the Natura 2000 Network. We created a small ecological production of almonds and olives seeking a regenerative crop, as well as a green island project for the local fauna and flora. In this little paradise we give home to a small group of rescued animals, among which we have dogs, cats, goats, donkeys, ponies, chickens, geese, peacocks and many more. The farmhouse is in the process of being renovated, it is a 400 square meter building with different rooms where we have sought to maintain the essence of the place. It is located ten minutes by car from the municipality of Mula, one hour from the nearest airport, and forty-five minutes from the provincial capital, Murcia. It is an ideal area for nature lovers, hikers, climbers and cyclists. We talk 🇪🇦🇬🇧🇩🇪
We prefer WorkAwayers to stay for a maximum of two weeks please.
Nuestro cortijo se encuentra en el término municipal de Mula, dentro del corazón de la Red Natura 2000. Creamos una pequeña producción ecológica de almendra y oliva buscando un cultivo regenerativo, además de un proyecto de isla verde para la fauna y flora local
En este pequeño paraíso damos hogar a un grupo de animales rescatados, entre los que tenemos perros, gatos, cabras, burros, ponies, gallinas, ocas, pavos reales.
El cortijo está en proceso de reforma, es una edificación de 400 metros cuadrados con diferentes estancias donde hemos buscado mantener la esencia del lugar.
Nuestra filosofía es reutilizar materiales usados o transformarlos.
Como persona soy autodidacta, con mucho interés en todo lo que rodea la naturaleza. He sido voluntaria medioambiental y social en los últimos 30 años.
Soy creativa y me gusta compartir experiencias y enseñar lo aprendido años atrás.
Mi handycap es que , tras una operación no puedo andar largas distancias.
Estamos a 15 minutos en coche de Mula o Bullas, cerca del Valle de Ricote, una hora y poco del aeropuerto más cercano, y cuarenta y cinco minutos de la capital de la provincia, Murcia.
Es una zona ideal para amantes de la naturaleza, senderistas, escaladores y ciclistas.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Stay with animals, practice languages, get to know the region. We have farm animals, mostly rescued, that need care and affection. You can practice languages with us (we speak Spanish, German and English) and you can practice Spanish with local neighbors. Opportunity and time to be creative. Learning a lot about natur.
The surroundings have an impressive attraction, from medicinal plants, protected birds, ruis, deer, wild boar. Ideal for bird watching. Walking, bicycle, climbing etc.
Estancia con animales, practicar idiomas, conocer la región. Aprender sobre naturaleza.
Tenemos animales de granja, en su mayoría rescatados, que necesitan cuidados y cariño.
Puedes practicar idiomas con nosotros (hablamos español, alemán e inglés) y puedes practicar el español con vecinos de la zona.
Oportunidad y tiempo para ser creativo.
Los alrededores tienen un atractivo impresionante, desde plantas medicinales, aves protegidas, arruis, ciervos, jabalíes. Ideal para practicar el avistamiento de aves. Senderismo, bici, escalada etc.

Help
Tasks are varied depending on your skills and interests:
- The dogs, ponies and donkey need to be exercised as often as possible. (Ponies are walked on a lead rein not ridden.)
- Outside tasks include improving animal enclosures, pruning almond and olive trees, finishing the natur swimming pool and a outdoor bathroom, permacultur garden is in progress and many more projects.
- Inside there is ongoing different help all based on upcycling materials, at most as possible to be eco-friendly
- You are welcome to help with feeding the animals morning and night, and they enjoy lots of affection, and in all the work around, depending on the station.
Las tareas son variadas dependiendo de tus habilidades e intereses:
- Los perros, ponis y burros deben ejercitarse con la mayor frecuencia posible. (Los ponis se pasean con riendas, no se montan).
- Las tareas exteriores incluyen mejorar los recintos de los animales, podar almendros y olivos, ayudar en terminar la piscina natural, huerta de permacultura y muchos más proyectos.
- En el interior hay trabajos varios todas basadas en el upcicling de materiales para respetar el medioambiente.
- Puedes ayudar con la alimentación de los animales por la mañana y por la noche, ellos disfrutan de tu cariño y en todos los demás trabajos que varian según la temporada.

Accommodation
WorkAwayers have sole occupancy of the upper floor of the farmhouse, which includes a large bedroom with a double and single bed and seating area, basic kitchen and bathroom. A shower room is shared at the moment on the ground floor.
We are also open to van drivers and campers who want to park on the farm.
Los WorkAwayers ocupan el piso superior de la casa de campo, que incluye un amplio dormitorio con una cama doble y una individual y zona de estar, cocina básica y baño. En la planta baja se comparte un baño con ducha.
También estamos abiertos a furgoneteros y campers que quieran aparcar en la hacienda.
What else ...
The Murcia region is a place to discover. With Sierra Espuña nearby and the Segura River passing, without a doubt the best that Murcia can offer are its pine forests, mountains and deserts. Ten minutes walk from the farmhouse we entered the forest. Five minutes by car or fifteen minutes by bicycle we have the area of natural pools of Fuente Caputa. And the almond flowering season is quite a spectacle, the entire field melts into pink and white. And if you are a fan of birds, on the grounds you can see imperial eagles, stone curlews, kestrels breeding on the farm, black storks...
La región de Murcia es un lugar para descubrir. Con Sierra Espuña cerca y el paso del río Segura, sin lugar a dudas lo mejor que puede ofrecer Murcia son sus pinares, montañas y desiertos. A diez minutos andando del cortijo ya entramos en bosque. A cinco minutos en coche o quince en bicicleta tenemos la zona de pozas naturales de Fuente Caputa donde te puedes bañar.
Y la temporada de floración del almendro es todo un espectáculo, todo el campo se funde en rosa y blanco.
Y si eres fanático de las aves en los terrenos pueden observarse águilas imperiales, alcaravanes, cernícalos, autillo, mochuelo etc.
