It's hard to write about this experience because it was so much, it's difficult to put all of that in some words, but i'll try to do my best.
First of all, Emma, Pawel and the kids were very welcoming, they trusted, they cared, and loved us from the very first moment, so it was very easy for us to feel like family immediately. The tasks and
… read more responsibilities were very light, never was a deadline or stress around the job. There was always time to have fun, enjoy the festival and to get to know people around us. I mainly handled organizational tasks, also assisting with setting up and taking down the festival and helping with house chores (mostly cooking) and the kids.
Emma was always concerned about making us feel comfortable, about the place to sleep, the food, the job, everything. Always dancing, singing and taking care of the boys and all the stuff around. A very chill and fun mommy vibe <3
Pawel a very polish-irish person. Always ready for a hug and a kind word. Creative and open to teach and learn new stuff, showing us new experiences and places.
During the festival both of them made sure to introduce us to all of their friends and family, who were just like them, Pauline, Mietek and Gosia, also part of the band and family, were incredible souls, we shared a lot about our life and laughs together.
This was definitely an experience that I will have forever in my heart, I knew incredible people, made friends, I got to explore beautiful landscapes and everything with an incredible family. I'll be forever grateful for all the love and experience shared with me. Thanks, thanks and more thanks<3You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Malachi was a very welcome member of the Workaway team. He was so helpful setting up and during the event. He was Pawels (festival organiser) right hand man and they worked very well together. He is a chill kind of dude and always happy to help out.
He fit right in with the Workaway crew, friends, family and locals. He makes a seriously tasty

Malachi stayed with us after the event and helped us renovate our new home as we were relocating just after the event. He came along for painting and also moved a big van load of house things.
We have a new friend for life in Malachi and we are very grateful for all the help he gave us this summer when we really needed an extra pair of hands.
He gives great hugs too.
Thanks Malachi :)

Réka was our first Workaway member to arrive for helping with the festival. She stayed in our family home and from the moment she arrived she fit in perfectly. She is an intuitive worker and was able to work on her own initiative. If there was no instruction (as some days there was not), Réka would see and do things as she saw fit and this worked
… read more very well for us. She even baked delicious cookies and soups!
In the final moments of setting up the festival, Réka was our Artistic Director and made lots to quirky and well fitted decor. She was on the ball with health and safety too, tucking in wires and ensuring the place was safe to walk around.
As Réka stayed with us for 3 weeks, it was important for us to have a person who understood family life and she really did. She got on great with kids and adults alike. She is a very easy person to live with. A woman of few words and a very comfortable person to spend time with. She is a well able scout and always up for an adventure.
We hope that Réka will join us for future events. We consider her as a friend and she is welcome to join our festival, family, band and lifestyle any time.
If you have Réka in your Workaway plans, consider yourselves lucky *

This time with Emma, Pawel, and their family and friends was very emotional for me. They are amazingly kind, easy-going and open people. I can’t be grateful enough for their acceptance, gratitude, and love.
I arrived to their home in a little bit chaotic time (moving, festival, end of school), so every day brought different challenges, works and
… read more events. I was treated like a family member from the very first moment. I feel i’ve got much more from them than i could give them. I could help to prepare for the small festival, it was so much fun, many creative jobs! But during the first weeks I didn’t have too many things to do. I tried to help with the houswork, food, and the kids. But thanks to my hosts, there was no pressure to work.
They have two young sons, so you can imagine.... Legos everywhere and early morning children fuss...
During the friendly and beautiful festival we volunteers had to work (cook, cleaning the kitchen, greet people in the gate), but we also could enjoy the programme. I’m so happy for this, it was amazing! I’m so happy to spend three weeks with lots of art and good music and interesting people.

Gil was a very welcome member of our crew. He fitted into our festival vibe very well, worked well with the team of 6 Workaway people. David took part in the duration of our event. He arrived in his van, self sufficient and with plenty of music to share. It's quite rare to find such a huge crowd of utterly lovely people all in one place.
They made me feel very welcome and highly appreciated my abilities as a sound engineer and carpenter. I never felt any pressure or had to fulfill a strict timetable (while of course things had to be finished before the festival started and the P.A. had to be set

And you could even learn some Polish if you wanted to.
