    Description

    We operate a household in Lahemaa national park in Estonia. Our house locates on a shore of the famous migratory bird staging area. So, fresh breeze, great sunsets and a lot of untouched nature are surrounding us.

    We need help restoring our old and large log-house that was originally built in 1884 as a guest house for those who stayed in nearby Vergi harbor. If you are interested and fit for restoration works, then you are welcome. The first stage is to dismantle old interiors and the logical next steps are to follow.

    The second project is about gardening. We have established a field for organic vegetables incl potatoes, carrots, cabbages, etc. There are apple trees, plum, and cherry trees that require attention.

    Well, since we locate in the center of a most preserved and untouched region - a national park, then perhaps you can imagine what to expect - many nature trails in forests, go fishing to rivers, lakes, and sea.
    Within a radius of 15 kilometers, there are 3 well-preserved manors to explore: Vihula, Palmse, and Sagadi. In addition, there are famous fishing villages that have maintained hundreds of years of history and traditions to enjoy. Võsu with its large white sanded beach is a great location to swim and sunbathe. All the weekends are packed with concerts, theatres, exhibitions for all tastes. No time to feel bored.

    House renovation.
    General carpentry skills are expected. If you have more in-depth knowledge of log-buildings or restoring wooden furniture, the better - but not required.
    No fixed schedule. Contribute as much you feel.

    Gardening.
    If you are interested in gardening, then some experience of sustainable organic gardening would be great, but not essential. No fixed schedule. Illustrative foto uploaded.

    Greenhouse project.
    We have started to build a wooden structure greenhouse, which is a project to be finalized this summer. The foundation is there, but the rest of it is waiting for the golden hands. Illustrative foto uploaded.

    Cellar renovation project.
    There is a 1901 built underground cellar that is half restored. This summer the limestone facade needs to be fixed and the roof above it to be built. Interior works are completed. Illustrative foto uploaded.

    Terrace building project.
    Last year we started building a garden terrace that is halfway done, but this summer we need to get it done. Illustrative foto uploaded.

    The nearest shop is 10kilometers away in Võsu. The nearby pub is at Vergi harbor open every day during summertime. There are several pubs and restaurants n Võsu, Käsmu, Vihula, Palmse.
    The bus to and from Tallinn is twice a day. Taxi from Tallinn 30euros.
