  We are looking for a female Au Pair / Backpacker 🌿🇦🇺
  
  Far North Queensland, rainforest living, homeschooling support for our child, meal preparation, light housekeeping. We will provide private room, access to a car, all meals, allowance, weekends free, and the chance to experience a truly unique part of Australia. 30 minutes from a lovely small town and a 45 min flight to Cairns. We're a Christian family with Swiss heritage on one side and a very Aussie heritage on the other. We are looking for someone who values learning, nature, wildlife, and adventure. Starting next year, Jan/Feb 2027.

  Our home is a natural sanctuary of unique and beautiful creatures. You'll see birds and butterflies of every colour, rare marsupials and mammals never found any where else in the world. Our region offers spectacular hiking tracks, waterfalls and creeks, and beaches. We border the heritage listed natural wonders of the Daintree rainforest and Great Barrier Reef.
  The weather is always warm, and the lifestyle is casual and relaxed.

  Help

  We are seeking homeschooling support for our primary aged child, all planning and materials provided, will just need supervision. Preparating and cooking breakfast and lunch for child and yourself, prepare dinner on weekdays for husband, child, myself and yourself, all food costs will be covered.
  In return we will provide an allowance, take you on local adventures to the waterholes, lookouts and hiking. I can offer my skills as an adult trainer, and my husband can teach you horticulture/ gardening skills.

  Husband is Swiss and would love our child to learn German (Swiss or High German), but this is desirable not compulsory. We speak English at home, and would prefer someone who understands English well.

  Accommodation

  A comfortable, private room on lower level of the house, separate from the main open living above. It has airconditioning and can be locked. Beautiful unique Rainforest stilt home. Shared bathroom with family.
  
  Will provided food and/or money for food, but you may need to prefer most of your meals as husband and I work full-time. We are a 30 minute drive from local supermarket. You will have access to a manual/ stick car if you wish to drive, or I can do shopping as per request. Lots of fresh produce in area, and options to eat out in nearby town occasionally.

  What else ...

  We are as Aussie as you get out here. It is a remote home which we share with nature, expect to see some spiders and snakes, you learn to live with them. It's all part of the experience!
  We are a relaxed Christian family, who cherish time together, so expect to have plenty of time to yourself in the evenings and days off where you can explore the area by foot, bicycle or car you'll have access to. We also welcome you to join our family activities with us, we enjoy board games, hiking, gardening, going 4 wheel driving/ off road, swimming in the local pool or waterhole and visiting our lovely farming neighbours. We also frequent Cairns and Innisfail for weekends away, you'd be welcome to join us.
  
  My husband and I work full-time during the weekdays and child will need to complete about 3-4 hours of homeschool a day. The rest of the day is yours to spend together. A curious, intelligent and talkative child who lives travelling and meeting new people.

  We are on satellite internet so if weather conditions are really poor our connection is limited. When weather is clear we rarely have connection issues. We are on a low level plan so speed may be slower than you're used to.
