We came to the Caribbean to open a vegan hotel and eco-tourism project. We found a magnificent property and we're excited about what we're doing here. My sweetheart was working as a marine scientist. I rode my bicycle 12,000 miles across Latin America. We both love to meet new people and we love to share our passion for environmental conservation and healthy living. We look forward to meeting you!
We are located on 10 beautiful ocean-front in front of what U.S.A. Today calls the best scuba dive site in the Caribbean (shipwrecks and reef). The historic buildings date back to 1760 and are on the National Registry of Historic Places. It's a challenge to restore buildings like this and we need your help.
We are very interested in environmental stewardship. Once we get a bit more of the renovations completed we'd like to establish a coral nursery for reef and ocean habitat restoration.
We've been hosting Workawayers for over a year and we've had great experiences. So great that two of the workawayers that visited have moved to the island. And many of the workawayers have come back or are planning to return for a second or third stay with us.

Be part of this incredible project on the Caribbean island of St. Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands). Learn to restore a 259-year-old greathouse, lay the groundwork for local food security, and help us create a boutique hotel with an emphasis on environmental and social education. And all that while learning about the important history of the island. Plus explore the ocean, learn about the sea turtles and coral reefs and help us protect the natural habitat. Come eat delicious vegan food with us and work with us as we find local solutions to some of the most pressing global concerns.
Caribbean ocean-front historic estate being restored as a farm-to-table inn with a botanical food forest. We are looking for a few people to help us with renovations and construction. Any construction skills are helpful from carpentry to painting, masonry and tile work. We're also planting 10 acres with tropical fruit and nut trees. We can use some help in the garden but we really need help with renovations and construction. We can help teach you construction skills, too.
Our accommodations are quite comfortable. If we have paid guests filling up rooms at the hotel you may need to share a room but often times we can provide a private room with a private bathroom. All our rooms have fans and ocean views.
We have bicycles you are welcome to use. Town is just 2-1/2 miles (4km) away. Beaches are very close. The rain forest is all around us. Take longer excursions to Buck Island, the lighthouse, the Monk's Baths, Rainbow Beach, Sandy Point and local farms. Tour the sugar mill ruins, learn about the island's history and learn about the nesting sea turtles and coral restoration programs. If you want to learn to scuba dive you can take a dive course in town and bicycle there. If you are dive certified already there are opportunities to go scuba diving. There's time and opportunity to do things with us and on your own. So far, we've hosted a good number of people from workaway and we've had great experiences. Many of the people coming from workaway have extended their stays with us and we've even had someone come for a third visit already (we've only been on workaway a little over a year). Two people who first came to this island to join us through workaway have now moved to the island.
