    Description

Hello again! We need a barista couple or 2 friends to join our small cafe/farm family for about 2 months.

Our small little coffee shop is located on the south side of the island, in Crown Bay Marina, where you'll meet tourists from all walks of life. Its a cute little community spot that caters to locals and visitors. Ideally need 2 people to cover the afternoon shifts, 12-8pm. Can train but ideal to have food service experience because it can be fast pace.

We serve coffee drinks and pastries and grab and go snacks. Part of the role involves baking at home for the shop with local farm ingredients from our farm. It's a really cute island set up.

    Lodging Included.
My grandparents little island house. Very few neighbors, very private and relaxing. This is an ideal spot for those who need a little peace of mind in a crazy world. Full kitchen, full bathroom, surrounded by farm fruit trees like soursop and sapodillas.

    Transportation.
I can pick up and drop off to airport After that, you'll need to make arrangements to rent a vehicle. I recommend renting a vehicle because it is very remote. the farm, the house, and the shop are not on any public transportation routes. Having your own transportation is vital for getting around.

    Coffee Shop expectations.
Shifts are 12-8p. 4-5 days a week. Must get food handlers card when on island. Can be a 2-day process.
Learn to make espresso drinks, make sandwiches for customers, keep place clean, and provide excellent customer service. You are going to love our customers. You brighten their day with all this nice sugar and coffee, they tend to be excited to see you. lol. From families, to captains, chefs, government officials, everyone tends to be excited you're here.
Home baking expectations: biscuits, banana bread, that tends to be the small stuff needed at least once a week.

    Farm Support expectations.
Rotate farm chores with local farm crew. They got the farm for the most part, but will need your help on their off days which tends to be the weekends. Keep Chickens feed and hydrated. Collect and clean eggs. harvest items for the shop if needed. and to grab eggs for your baking.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

It is an ideal experience for people curious about living in the islands. For those who want to get off the mainland and explore island life. will get lots of exposure to all the different processes and elements that go into island life, working on an island, learning about fresh local ingredients, farming techniques, harvesting and gathering techniques on an island, and the human experience of interacting with people in the community. The best way to get to know a place and to get to know the people is through food, over a cup of coffee or tea.
