It was an absolute delight to host Ash through workaway, and I(Nik) enjoyed working with him on projects around our property including a new ladder for the loft in the cabin he was staying, plumbing repairs and various endeavors throughout his stay. He is a steady, inquisitive, talented and creative young man, and any host will be blessed to have

We had a wonderful time staying with Nik and Barbara. They live in the most magical place just outside of Nevada City and you have a lovely little quiet cabin with all mod cons (wifi, toilet, sink, hob etc) to enjoy in exchange for just a couple of hours of work each day. Their home is a short drive from a beautiful river where you can go walking

Nik and Barbara were so kind to us while we stayed and we had a lovely time chatting and getting to know them - it really will give us memories to cherish forever. We also particularly enjoyed the HOT outside shower (definitely a thrill!) and seeing Barbara’s beautiful temple. It was a home away from home and we left feeling rejuvenated and at peace with the world. Thank you for having us!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Delightful couple. Very quickly we felt much like they were long lost family. Playful and light hearted, we had many cultural interactions, plus downright fun. They showed up every morning cheerful and ready to put in their two hours. We look forward to any future visits they wish to share with us. Good luck with your coming parenthood.

Aldis was great to have around. Very calm and easy to work with. Fact is, he was only suppose to work 2 hours a day, but as much as I tried I couldn't stop him. He is a machine. Because my wife was away for that week, he and I hung a lot and I got a real inside view of his life in eastern Europe. He would be welcome back any time.

My first American workaway experience simply could not have been more perfect. I was regenerated and rejuvenated for many months ahead. It turned out to be what I needed most, at this point in my life. However brief, it was a profoundly healing experience for me.
I was welcomed into Nik and Barbaras' forest kingdom immediately upon my arrival,
… read more and the warm hospitality, complimented by magnificent natural surroundings, made me happy to help, and enjoy my otherwise less significant being.
I was entrusted initially to misc pressing jobs, in a machine shop and oiling a deck of a secluded temple place for spiritual practice. Soon enough I was clearing a recently cut forest patch, which for me was the most satisfying part of my stay. I could fully immerse myself in the environment I was hoping to see during my travel.
I lived in an individual, detached, fully equipped cabin, with great fast wifi connection.
I can absolutely recommend this stay and experience to anyone looking for a full immersion deep woods mind-body healing or reset.
Thank you, Nik & Barbara, for this unforgettable and truly invaluable experience. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
